worst player in the league, not just essendon. i wear his badge every game i go to just to get a rise out of other people. dont bother trading him just get rid of him. yes u johns lovers bag me out as much as u wont but we dont need players like him if we wont to be top 4 contender.

ok im not a johns lover so keep that in mind. But worst player in the league? come on. One of the problems with johns is that hes a FF, he can take strong marks, as he has the body to do that, and hes pretty accurate in front of goals now, - well when ive actually seen him play forward - The problem at essendon is there is no room for him in the forward line... and the other problem of our midfield.

While I agree he should never be mentioned on this thread, has anyone seen him string more than one decent game in succession? Cant say that I have.

For the record, from those that have tasted senior selection, line call between Johns, Bradley & Bolton look to be at the bottom of the heap.

Kepler Bradley by a long way, terrible skills terrible decision making, nervous everytime he gets a seniors game may as well mark it down as a loss.
Not a big fan of Mark Bolton but extremely useful when we play against sydney only man who can successfully tag Adam goodes

Yeah what a bonus ... we only took Bolton at number 4 in the '97 draft ... I think Goodes was in the high 30's early 40's

would be a tie between bradley and cole.....bradley is to slow on 2 counts.....his decision making is not up to afl level and quicknes across the ground.....as for cole i wasnt happy when we got him was useless at coll then came to us got fat and had soft tissues injuries

He then made a very big mistake and created a new user, he won't be back

Dyson would be a good player if he managed to get his hands on the ball during the match. His disposal is good and he runs hard, the only major problem i see in him is his ballwinning ability, is there anyway this can be solved, is it just lack of confidence? Because it's stopping him from becoming a quality player and cementing a permanent spot in the 22.

Are daylight ahead of anyone else considered in this group;

Dyson - was not a high draft pick so cant expect as much, should be gone at season end as not up to it.
Cole - been injured a fair bit at essendon, can play, just a question if gets another chance
Kepler - constantly played out of position, said it all before and still young
Johns - still young and body only been good for little while, still has some catching up to do to make the grade
Laycock - he is 22 and a ruckman, anyone who nominated nim should go have a good hard look in the mirror
Heff - was a great player few years ago and melbourne (daniher) wrecked him
Campo - was a great player at carlton, what can we expect when we draft 30+ players, injuries have wrecked him at essendon

Went to the Ess v Hawthorn game and Johns started in the backline and had a huge job on Franklin. That was just one of the chances he has been given. Potential is a silly word. Very silly word. Potential this and potential that. I think its time we realised there are a few players on our list with just a little too much potential for my liking.

Would hate to do a Freo though ... They didn't see potential in Peter Bell remember or McPhee .. actually the list goes on. But agree Johns and Bradley need to show something soon..

Don't know what game you were watching but Ryder was on Franklin that day.

I believe Johns should be kept on the list and played in the team, one of the main differences between 2000 bombers and todays team is aggression and physicality. Have Johns played simply as a hitman, and bring the dons the hard attacking reputation we used to have. (and if he kicks 1-2 goals a game its a bonus)
