For people nominating Majak Daw.
Majak Daw's last 4 weeks
RD 14 (WBD) Marks 3, Disposals 6, Goals 2, Behinds 1, Hitouts 9, Tackles 3, Goal Assists 0.
RD 15 (GCS) Marks 1, Disposals 5, Goals 1, Behinds 1, Hitouts 8, Tackles 3, Goal Assists 1.
RD 16 (FREM) Marks 1, Disposals 4, Goals 0, Behinds 0, Hitouts 15, Tackles 2, Goal Assists 0.
RD 17 (PORT) Marks 1, Disposals 5, Goals 0, Behinds 1, Hitouts 21, Tackles 2, Goal Assists 0.

I dunno if he's the worst, but he's definitely over hyped, I can't help but think he's only getting a game based on what he could possibly do, not what he's done.

My list gives some younger players a bit more time

Adelaide: Mackay
Brisbane: Lester/Rich
Carlton: Ed Curnow/Thomas/White
Collingwood: I don't know Collingwood enough but surely one of their other guys like Phillips, Smith, Broomhead, Ramsay, Crisp or Hoskin-Elliot musn't be pulling their weight
Essendon: Green
Footscray: The edgy pick is someone like Johannisen or Stringer; the correct pick is someone like Cordy, Suckling, Tom Boyd or Adams
Fremantle: Kersten
Geelong: Murdoch/Bews
Gold Coast: Haven't seen enough suns games but surely Joyce and Leslie play less games in a better side? Is Lemmens worth being picked every week?
Greater Western Sydney: Have no idea
Hawthorn: Was Gibson, but is probably on his last legs. Langford is get inside but is a terrible kick.
Melbourne: Vince/Melksham/Bugg (punch aside, he's not that great)
North Melbourne: Mullett/Hansen/Gibson
Port Adelaide: Tough, but Sam Gray and Impey don't kick enough goals, are Broadbent and Young good enough?
Richmond: Castagna, Prestia, Edwards and Caddy are at times not far behind
St Kilda: Gilbert or Weller, largely because he misses a lot of shots
Sydney: Ruck duo of Naismith and Sinclair isn't flash
West Coast: Priddis is a contender, so is Wellingham and Cripps

For 2017 alone, I'd say Matthew Boyd for the Dogs. Obviously a club hero and club champion, great story of a rookie listed player to achieve what he has in the game, but he has offered nothing this year when I've watched.

I'd disagree on Curnow, Hoskin-Elliott, Prestia, Caddy, and after tonight Sinclair. Think these guys are all capable football players, even if they aren't stars.

Rhys Stanley. I'd much prefer a woman from our VFLW team playing for us than him. And I'm sorry to any Geelong VFLW ladies I offend by comparing Stanley to them because it's definitely insulting due to how terrible a "footballer" Rhys really is.

Although Boyd doesn't fit the 'regular' criteria this year due to missing half the season with injuries.

Is 13 games enough of a qualifier to be 'regular' so far this year? Seems to make up most sides top 16 players or so. I feel if you've missed 6+ games you could probably have a continuity excuse.

My nomination from each club bolded. Some leeway given at some clubs for kids.

Players who have played >13 games this year
Adelaide: B.Crouch, Jenkins, Lever, Kelly, Sloane, Talia, Walker, Mackay, Hartigan, Brown, Betts, Atkins, Otten, Cameron, Jacobs, Douglas, Lynch, Laird, Milera, Smith, M.Crouch

Brisbane: McCluggage, Beams, Rich, Martin, Berry, Zorko, Robertson, McStay, Gardiner, Taylor, Hipwood, Andrews, Mayes, Lester, Rockliff

Carlton: Silvagni, Murphy, Gibbs, SPS, Simpson, Kreuzer, Cripps, Docherty, Plowman, Marchbank, Weitering, C.Curnow, E.Curnow, Casboult, Wright (the extra 5 disposals and 0.5 goals a game doesn't make up for the 100+ games experience he has over Silvagni, even if Silvagni is objectively the lowest performing player on raw performance)

Collingwood: Fasolo, Grundy, Goldsack, Treloar, Pendlebury, Adams, Greenwood, Phillips, Sidebottom, Crisp, Moore, Hoskin-Elliott, Maynard, Howe - a tough one, no standout, but Sidebottom is a 'good' player who offers nothing really. He is by no means the worst in the comp or anywhere near it but no hurt factor, match winning ability etc for a 26 year, 180 gamer who looked really good early in his career.

Essendon: McGrath, Parish, Watson, Daniher, Merrett, Goddard, Zaharakis, Baguley, Fantasia, Green, Hurley, Heppell, Hooker, Colyer, Hartley, AMT, Kelly

Fremantle: Fyfe, B.Hill, Walters, Weller, Mundy, Crozier, Tucker, Blakely, Hamling, Kersten, McCarthy, Neale, Spurr, Johnson

Geelong: Tuohy, Mackie, Taylor, Smith, Menzel, Lonergan, Selwood, Murdoch, Duncan, Henderson, Hawkins, Menegola, Guthrie, Motlop, Parsons, Dangerfield, Stewart, Blicavs

GC: Rosa, Martin, Sexton, Ablett, Miller, May, Lynch, Lemmens, Swallow, Lyons, Wright, Joyce, Saad

GWS: Davis, Shiel, Ward, Scully, Patton, Wilson, Cameron, Tomlinson, Kelly, Shaw, Williams, Corr, Mumford, Reid

Hawthorn: Roughead, Mitchell, Burton, McEvoy, Burgoyne, Hodge, Smith, Sicily, Breust, Shiels, Puopolo, Langford, Henderson, Hardwick

Melbourne: Salem, Watts, Petracca, Lewis, Viney, Tyson, Oliver, Hibberd, Frost, Melksham, Hannan, Vince, McDonald, McDonald, Hunt, ANB, Garlett, Jetta - harsh on Lewis but O.McDonald only has 30 games to his name and is a KD so I feel rough nominating him

North: M.Williams, Higgins, Ziebell, Hrovat, Cunnington, McDonald, Dumont, Thompson, Mullett, Atley, Goldstein, Tarrant, Garner, Macmillan, Gibson, Brown - some 'obvious' regulars miss out such as Hansen and Swallow on games missed, so arguably another harsh one but just a really disappointing player is Atley. Think about him - for a almost 25 year old who has played 148 games, and barely ever missed a game (played 148 of a possible 156 from what I quickly looked at), has he ever played a note-worthy game, a game where he was genuinely top 5 on the ground? None came to mind. From goggling he's polled 2 Brownlow votes in his career, from 1 game in 2012 in round 5 v the GC kids.

Port - Boak, SPP, Ryder, Broadbent, Ebert, Hartlett, Gray, Trengove, Wines, Clurey, Wingard, Dixon, Impey, Byrne-Jones, Westhoff, Jonas, S.Gray - tempted to call it Jonas but he has been important for Ports defence this year, as much as I think he is not that great, but a reasonable list of senior players here made it out of Impey and Gray...either or, neither would be the worst in the comp anyway

Richmond - Grimes, Prestia, Martin, Ellis, Grigg, Riewoldt, Cotchin, Astbury, Houli, Short, Rioli, Rance, Caddy, Lambert, Nankervis, McIntosh, Butler, Castagna - bit like Port here in that there's not much to choose from, majority of Richmonds bottom 6 comes from kids who I feel it's hard to put down, but I don't feel like the senior players are that bad. So Castagna is the unlucky one here. Definitely feel he has the least weapons to his game of the kids, compared to Rioli/Butler/McIntosh etc.

St Kilda - Carlisle, Steven, Gresham, Ross, Steele, Montagna, Riewoldt, Geary, Billings, Newnes, Roberton, Gilbert, Brown, Bruce, Membrey, Weller - just not that good anymore. Career revival in recent seasons but feel he's lost a few weapons this year

Sydney - Hannebery, Jones, Kennedy, Mills, Reid, Franklin, Parker, Newman, Hewett, Grundy, Smith, Papley, Lloyd
Towers - rule broken. Only 11 games but he's useless. Regular enough still.

WC - Mitchell, LeCras, Gaff, Sheed, Sheppard, Yeo, Priddis, Shuey, Cripps, Vardy, McGovern, Hurn, Darling, Barrass - 2017 only

WB - Suckling, Bont, Dahlhaus, Hunter, Stringer, Wood, Macrae, Cordy, McLean, Daniel, JJ, Picken - Suckling here, shanks as many kicks as he nails, soft and outside, not a good one-on-one player

Bagley (spelling) from essendon - that dude is a potato
Baguley, yep. But our coaching staff love him. Was good before his injury has lost a yard of pace.

I think David MacKay cops it unfairly. He's not the hardest player going around and I think fans can't handle that, but the Crows are a far better said with him playing well, the last two weeks being an example.

I think given a proper run at being the #1 ruckman for a side, he'd be serviceable. He's decent depth at least.

I don't think there's some wealth of untapped potential though. He's no longer "new to the game", and he's now 26 years old and in his 8th AFL season, so he kind of is what he is at this point.

For an outside player (1.36 clearances per game, 30.71% of his disposals are contested) who is supposedly a good runner with a good tank (who actually provides very little run or rebound, with 0.43 running bounces and 1.50 rebound 50s per game), Mackay doesn't get nearly enough of the ball (17.36 disposals per game in 80.36% game time), and doesn't dispose of it cleanly enough (71.60% disposal efficiency, 20.99% turnover rate) or have much hurt factor (3.57 inside 50s, 0.50 goals, 0.43 goal assists, and 5.14 score involvements per game) to make up for it. Doesn't offer much defensively either (3.14 tackles and 1.14 1%ers per game), to balance out his lack of consistent attacking merit. This isn't a poor season by his standards, or some sort of regression from past heights, but pretty standard fare from him over the majority of his career now, which is on pace to see him become possibly the worst/least effective 200 gamer in AFL history.

Given that he's 29 years old, and doesn't have the size, physique or hardness to play a different role (181cm, 77kg), this is really as good as he'll get, so he's a very mediocre, replaceable type IMO. He's one of those players that looks good and who should in theory be a valuable, damaging player in today's game (21.03 metres gained per disposal indicates he could be a useful linkman, if he just got the ball a lot more often), but in reality just doesn't do enough often enough, especially considering his age and experience level, and how almost "automatic" his selection seems to be.

Mackay might not necessarily be that bad, but he's certainly not that good either. For a regularly selected veteran, he's painfully average, and there's very little upside or merit in his continued selection.

Good get....and didn't they just re-sign him?
No idea, but im ****ed how he has stayed on an afl list this long. Turnover merchant.

Best thing he ever did was have dick picks on his laptop of Dal Santo and Reiwoldt. Even managed to turn them over to a 16 year old girl lol

It says regularly getting a game. As in it's likely that the player will be known to bigfooty readers as he likely plays every week.

Jackass.
