Our season fell apart when we sacked Steve Carey and Peter Bradbury mid-season for a couple of greedy Magpies who wouldn't take a pay cut (at Collingwood) back in 1986. Geoff Raines and Mike Richardson was the worst recruiting 'coup' Sheeds ever pulled off (bloody expensive too!). They played about half a season and were sent on their way to form a part of Brisbane's inaugral list. Dunno what happened to Carey, but i think Bradbury spent a short time with the 'Pies afterwards (is that right joffa? can any Magpie confirm this?)

where's wally?

let Malcolm Blight coach the rest of the season in 99, after he said he will quit at the end of the year. They should of said Malcolm, Get f*cked, and piss off!

I am pretty sure Carey went to Geelong for a while & I think you are right about Bradbury going to the Pies.
Cheers

We talked Corey McUseless out of a golf career and convinced him to play footy.
And as if that wasn't enough, we recruited Calthorpe, Olarenshaw...........God ! The list goes on.

Well its a speculative thing i guess, and i hate bagging a former great BUT appointint Knights as coach was a shocker in my eyes.

We could have gone with Eade *who i was hoping for at the time, i always thought he had a great footy brain, besides that i wore his number on my duffell coat as a kid, lol* or Scwabby at the time. Knightsy while a pretty good spotter of talent (he recruited some handy players in his time) wasnt a very good match day coach. Some of his oversights were amazing.

That would be the worst on the playing side of things, that and one B.Youngreedylowfilthoveratedscumdwellermaggot

Off field it was the early nineties and having the big spenders try and turn the 'family' club into a junior Carrrrlton with overspending and lack of fiscal responsibilty nearly killing the club.
