80s and 90s and up to mid 2000s, a great time for poor recruiting. Best 22 has the
draft pick used, followed by the number of games:

B: Anthony Banik (1,49), Matthew Francis (19,19), Allistair Scott (13, 19)
HB: Jarrod Oakleigh-Nichols (8, 13), Pat Steinfort (16, 0), Damien Ryan (11,30)
C: Ezra Poyas (22, 9), Adam Thompson (Port 42, 4),Craig Biddiscombe (Geel 8, 44)
HF: Terry Keays (Coll 4, 25), Cleve Hughes (24, 16), Danny Meyer (12, 17)
F: Paul Hudson (WB 49, 3 games), Richard Lounder (c) (1, 4 games), Wayne Hernaman (7, 20)
Foll: Steven O'Dywer (Melb 3, 5 games), Alex Gilmour (21,0), Wayne Peters (14,5)
Inter: Richard Anderson (vc) (4,0), Robert Wren (18,0), Travis Caserley(40,0), Brad Smith (35,0)

Could easily pick a second 22

B: Luke Weller (pick 11 pre-season draft 2004), Brad Gwilliam, Clay Sampson (pick 6, pre-season 1999)
HB: Tim Fleming (pick 41, 2002), Aaron James (trade, 1997), Clinton King (traded for pick 7, 1999),
C: Aaron Fiora (pick 3, 1999) , Simon Fletcher (pick 79, 2003), Todd Bremen
HF: Billy Nicholls (pick 47, 2002), Shane Morrison (pick 64, 2003), Ashley Blurton (trade, 1997)
F: Steven Jackson, Kent Kingsley (pick 6, pre-season draft 2007), Adam Houlihan (pick 63, 2001)
FOLL: Ben Marsh (pick 4, pre-season draft 2004), Steven Sziller (pick 57, 2000), Justin Blumfield (trade, 2002)

I remember being a young kid where David Bourke took a screamer against the Saints in the goal square at Docklands in 2001. He then went on to miss the shot.

yeah lolz lamentable!

If David Bourke could have put on weight - he would have been an absolute star. He had all the skills (goal-kicking excepted:D), absolutely no fear and was set to be our full-back for 10 years. But the gorilla full-forwards kept breaking his shoulders, and he was continually injured.

15 Kgs of muscle would have made all the difference.

Nahhhh Petterd beats them all.

Create a drill, a bloke strolls into goal 30m out in the pocket, the Tiges player gets a sprinting start and has to mow him down from behind to stop the goal.

Reckon any other player we've had could manage it.

Kicked five on SOS one day so shocking call. Many worse than him.

Shocking call? He was on the list for three years, played 18 games, kicking 25 goals, 9 of which in 2. You're right, he was ace.

Stephen Jurica was a dead set spud. The night he kicked 5 against Essendon was one of the most comically rewarding sporting events of my life.

John Howat was a back pocket who had to play undersized full back against some of the best full forwards in the game's history with the ball being delivered on a platter because our midfield was so woeful.
He was an honest footballer who had enough decent games not to warrant being on this list. Furthermore - he played in a winning semi-final against Essendon.
Similar tale with Clinton King. Played in-and-under when we had bugger all in that regard and was good enough to play in a semi-final win against Carlton. Plenty of Richmond alumni who cannot claim that.

Todd Menegola and Matthew Francis on the other hand ...
