Worthington Cup Semi Final

Liverpool 2, Sheffield United 0

(Liverpool win 3-2 on aggregate)

Diouf - 9
Owen - 107

Made hard work of it.

Again, it seems like we missed some good chances which the better sides will not let us get away with.

Apparently, Steven Gerrard could have scored a hat-trick in extra time alone.

Was doing laps of the loungeroom when Owen scored ... but that was a great pass by Stevie G. We created enough chances and the best team did win. But the Blades can hold their heads high ... it certainly wasn't easy.

Before Owen scored i had preminitions of Shef Utd scoring in the last min of extra time! Thankfully it didn't get to that!

Anyone else think Kirkland was lucky not to be sent off

Deliberate hand ball outside the area

Then he pushed and verbally abused the referee

The Utd manageer is now claiming Henchoz spat in his direction at the ground and said its to be expected as he "is not English"

Sounds a bit like racism to me or something similar.

Expect to hear a bit more about it all.

Its great to be back in Cardiff though. I am hoping Man U get through as well - blockbuster final if so.

We deserved to win...we controlled the game from start to finish and Owen alone should have scored 4 times. Murphy was good, Gerrard on and off but his pass to release Owen for Liverpool's second was very good.

Diouf was also pretty good and Riise created a bit of run. Owen should have scored as I said many times, but he mostly created his own chances. Heskey as much as people bag him played very well. He is such a physical presense up forward.

Anyway I was delighted with the win....onto the final we go.

Very Lucky....Although he should have got a free 'cause he was being held onto by the arm.

Kirkland should have gone, can only assume he didn't because of the earlier foul the ref missed.

Neil Warnock (Sheffield United manager) is a dead-set prat. Didn't hear too much whinging from him after the Blades received an armchair ride from the ref in the 1st leg.
