Unfortunately the reality is ATM he's probably on base wages plus match payments as an upgraded rookie. A 22yo 204cm utility would be worth $400,000 on the open market in today's climate and the best we'll be able to offer him is around $200,000.

TBH I'd rather deal with a contender because at least they aren't able to play the PSD card which forces them to trade for him and trade quality if they're seriously keen.

For instance the Kanga's might look at him and say he's the type of bloke we can build a defence around. Scott even had something to do with him during his time at the club. If they go at him we say righto you want him you're going to have to pay up because you don't have the leverage of attacking him through the PSD. We then say it will cost you Goldstein, but we'll chuck in a third rounder to sweeten the pot. Its a far better situation than losing him to possibly GC for diddly squat!
