Seems to be he would be a great fit for the bombers in light of Alessio's retirement.
I'm a big rap for David Hille (can see him becoming a very handy ruckman in the next few years) but Mckernan would be a good backup or choice to go foward as well.
His time at Carlton is clearly up, so perhaps an Mckernan/Murphy swap for Danny Jacobs would be viable.
Mckernan would still be a much better bet than Matty Allan IMHO
 
Bombers could probably come up with the appropriate pieces for the trade - but I think they're building for something later than next year, which is what you're aiming for with McK. They want younger, etc. Of course Hirdandlloyd might disagree ...
 
I'd prefer McKernan to Allan because he can play up forward and doesn't have Allison attached to him. McKernan does play with heart, too (if not his head).

We will politely decline your offer of Justin Murphy though.

If he's willing to play for under $125k it might be worth it. I can't see why he'd take such a cut though when he's still on contract for a couple years (i think).
