Thursday. More days to watch footy is always the correct answer.

I quite like coming home on Thursday and having football to watch.
If no Saturday footy on FTA means watching streams of the VFL team, or attending those matches, or even watching local footy then that's a win in a lot of situations.

Channel 10 had it best, live afternoon game, post game analysis, news, before the game, night game, post game analysis and highlights of other games.

Probably fta Saturday to be honest. I don't mind Thursday night footy but having no sat games on a non subscription (ie free) service is just wrong

I was going to say the same thing. But maybe that changes when the Saturday fox lock out ends around round 16 or whatever
Love Thursday night, but no FTA Saturdays is.Un Australian.
Saturday and it’s not even close for me.
It makes it impossible for many fans to attend Thursday nights without taking days off work/school. Can’t fully engage with the game as know you have to be getting organised for work/school in between for the next day and otherwise also can’t watch the full game.
Give me a full weekend of footy anytime.

I'm usually waking up early so I can't get down to support Thursday games in person, and if the Tigers lose then I gotta wait usually over a week for the next game. Wish they would can the idea altogether.

Thursday for me, I'd hope that with no ftv games on Saturdays it'll encourage more people to get to games, get to local/state games ect.
I would prefer Thuirsday night games didn't exist. They screw up scheduling and make it feel liek the week has ended before it has.
But, commercial reality means were' stuck with it. And given Thursday is a bit more restrictive on attendance; people from outer suburbs, regional and interstate struggle to go, and kids mostly can't go; they have to be live on FTA.
There just aren't enough FTA games generally, putting games away behind a paywall doesn't help get fans on-board. And some teams are basically paywalled all season.

Maybe I’m outta the loop, but I thought the AFL hadn’t agreed to Thurs night games each round. If they have, the yippee!
AFL primed for 23 Thursday night games in 2025
AFL fans will see more Thursday night football than ever before in 2025, with matches scheduled in the prime slot in all bar two home-and-away rounds next season.
Thursday night games have always been weird to me and absolutely detest them because it is highly inconvenient to attend for anyone with a family that doesn't live within a 15 kilometre radius of the CBD. Games finish between 9:50pm 10:30pm and people with children who don't live in the inner suburbs usually end up going to bed at midnight on a week day, sheer stupidity.
I don't like change for the sake of change unless there's something in it for the average AFL supporter and this decision was purely to sate the greed of Broadcast right holders who want as many games on Prime Time as possible to squeeze out every dollar out of the tv deal.
