Port Adelaide Football Club estd 1870 The Power, formerly the Magpies, 34 SANFL(VFL equivalent) flags and 1 AFL flag.

Your dreaming. SANFL premierships do not count in the Big League. If this was the case we'd count our reserves premierships (now thats the equivalent). I think I can feel a new thread coming on.

Anyway I'd draft Dowler @ 20 if still available.

Oakleigh Chargers forward Beau Dowler - one of the most sought after prospects in this year's NAB AFL Draft - has been involved in a car accident.

The 17-year-old was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed on Friday.

Dowler has suffered a stress fracture to his pelvis and is recovering in a Melbourne hospital.

so how did anyone come up with broken pelvis in 3 places ????

Draft hopeful out for six months
25 October 2005 Herald Sun
TOP 10 draft prospect Beau Dowler will be unable to run for six months after he fractured his pelvis in three places in a car accident last week.

Hope you read the Herald sun this morning.. and i wrote that originally when details were very sketchy and had only heard it of one of his mates - but he did fracture it in 3 places and will be out of action for majority of next yr.

Good luck to him, we all obviously hope he makes a full recovery regardless of who picks him up!

I had a mate in the Army broke his pelvis. Got blown off the DZ and landed on a tractor when he was parachuting. Worst part was when the farmer got out of the tractor and went over to have a go at him, only to realise that there was a whole stick of armed blokes coming down behind him.

He was in a body cast from the waist down for months. Prior to the accident he was a really fit guy. He managed to get fit again about a year or so after the accident and was running good times for his 5km run etc but he admited that it never felt the same again. he used to get pain in the pelvic area regularly. Making a full recovery might not mean making it back to 100% of what you were before.

beua is a top kid but unfortunately the injury is quite a serious one considering the sport he plays twisting turning running jumping not to mention agility been there done that it certainly restricts you but every one is different so i wish beau all the very best and hope he makes afull recovery risky pick but thats life

I would still pick Beau Dowler. I mean, he's a 195cm tall forward and he would be quite handy. Brendan Fevola is lazy, has a bad attitude but has plenty of potential. I would've been happy to just trade him, I didn't really care during the trade week. Fev turns 25 next year and Whitnall is 26 and they are at the peak of their careers. Dowler is only about 19 and would be worth it. The appointment of Terry Daniher as our forward/defence and development coach is handy.
