And every Crow supporter clapped and cheered and thoguht it was great stuff when Riccuito put down Dean Kemp that time with a very crude bump to Kemps head back in 1995 which knocked Kemp out and forced him to hospital.

It was the sorta bump that supporters of the bumper thinks its great stuff and the supporters of the knocked out guy thinks its crude, weak, gutless, disgraceful, should be suspended for 10 weeks. It'll always be that way and id put my life on that you woulda thought it was great stuff had someone put down a Port player in a carbon copy bump.

Its very dangerous in my view and should be taken out of the game

I have bee outspoken on this issue vis a vis Byron Pickett and apply the same standards to Ricciuto.

Head high contact needs to be taken out of the game. Full stop.

As far as the ball in the bassett case I will watch it again. I saw it live and on replay and thought he went past it, but I will watch it again.

I found the footage on the AFL website

I admit you are in fact correct and the ball hit Bassets foot and went forward and when the contact was made the ball was between them.

Probably not much Burgoyne could have done on looking at it colsely.

Only thing he did wrong was jump in the air.

Bassett looked up because he had kicked the ball too far in front and couldn't reach it.
