4 players short of 18, all injured, one retired and no bench...yep, you're right, they would still beat them

I must have heard wrong , I thought Dimma said after the game when the injury occurred he would prbly miss a few weeks then it got longer after injury was updated .

You heard correctly, media speculation was 2 weeks the next day but once we had scans done, it was a 6-8 weeker, maybe even 10

So apparently dusty copped a nice corky and Vlas was pretty sore, not sure what was wrong with him though.

Astbury won’t be back next week either

Astbury - groin 1 week
Lambert - achillies 1-3 weeks
Coleman-Jones - ?????? 2-3 weeks
Nankervis - abductor 3-4 weeks
Short - elbow 3-4 weeks
Riewoldt - PCL 3-4 weeks
Ross - ankle 3-4 weeks
English - shoulder 3-4 weeks
Miller - ?????? 3-4 weeks
Moore - ankle 8-10 weeks
Pickett - Finger 8-10 weeks
Rance - knee season

Vlastuin - general soreness test
Martin - corkie test

Our current injury list. Judging by the predicted weeks remaining the Gold Coast game or Port game shape as the game where we should get a few back into the side. If we can split or win the 2 games in between we should be in good shape for a charge in the second half of the season. Not sure the charge will be good enough to pinch a flag though.

Not confirmed but heard that at the VFL yesterday when people questioned why him and Miller weren't playing that both were injured, not sure what the injuries are

Injury list not even that bad according to champion data.

Not having cotch, Rance, jack, Nank, for large chunks amongst others isnt even worth 3 goals a game they said..
I saw that. Load of bullshite.
We could almost make an entire team out of our injury list.

Clearly Rance out alone is worth about 3-5 goals a game. Irreplaceable.

Can anyone share an insight as to how the injured guys stay fit? I know they do, just curious. Be good to know they come back with similar conditioning to when the walked under a ladder

Have often wondered this too, listening to our fitness guys update injuries has shed some light on what they do, and videos like below and the Menzel Doco. SOunds like it's swimming, bike and then running when you can, increasing pace/distance as they recover until they can fianlly sprint.

This is the same company who said Collignwood have the best midfield going into 2017, they don't have a good track record for being right.

Lambert is still a week or two away with Achilles tendonitis, while Damien Hardwick has said Astbury and Ellis are expected to miss just the one match. Short is aiming for a return the week after the bye (round 15), although it will probably be on reduced minutes through the VFL. Nankervis and Riewoldt are also post-bye prospects, although not quite as immediate as Short. Riewoldt has just progressed from running on the weight-bearing Alter-G treadmill to running outside. The club is confident Pickett will play at some stage this season at either VFL or AFL level. – Sarah Black
