have heard that there are 2 clubs that might be missing next year. Centrals definately gone but Power look like getting up for another year. 2nd team in trouble may be Magpies. Does anyone know anything about this? do they have a coach and have they started training yet.

The Magpies will feild sides in 07. Glenorden have got rid of alot of players that started at Laverton and moved to Glenorden , theyre coming back to the maggies. We started trainin last night had about 30 on the track.

Unit i doubt it that Magpies had 30 on the track at this time of year.

Can you name any of the new recruits or even who the coach is?

Coach at the moment is still undecided but at the moment its Mal Hartshorne he is only a caretaker until they find someone. Mal will be coaching the Under 18's.

Just worked out who you are..... Lookout4Lions!!! You're not the sharpest tool in the shed are you!!!!

He's not very smart but he can lift heavy things.

He outed himself with Lookout4Lions initially because he was so dumb. His grand final quarter time address/dribble confirmed his intelligence or lack thereof.

Keep up the good work fat boy.

Applicants for Senior Job at Western Magpies:

Timmy - Was coach in 2006 obviously didnt do very well so doubt he will get the job

Gary Stone - BIG chance of this guy gettin the job , has coached junior sides to numerous premierships at Laverton and was coach of the Under 18's in 2006. I dont think he has ever coached a senior side but i had him in 2006 and he is very capable of taking the job.

Il let ya know if anymore applicants come to hand...

I heard two weeks ago that Steve Bourke who has had an U19 assistants role at Old Westbourne for the past couple of seasons had got the senior job at Laverton. This is obviously not true???

He has been down there but just observing for the moment.. Now i think about it he could be the coach but i dont know 100%.

Whilst on the topic of coaching positions and news at clubs, here is the latest from the Wyndhamvale Falcons Football Club, if anyone is interested which they probably ain't haha.

It is been named the 'YEAR OF THE FIRSTS' at the Falcons in 2007 with a few new things coming into the club. For the first time ever, WFFC now has it's own Under 18A side, with the team jumping ships from the Wyndhamvale Junior Football Club to the Falcons. The club will also see it's first female president ever, in Leanne Wallace, who will run the club and look after the team manager duties for the senior side. Vice President will be Ron Doran who has had valuable experiance as an executive with the WRFL and many WRFL Division One clubs.

The coaching staff in 2007 will see Runner-Up in the '06 Alan Smith Medal Brett Cook continue on as Senior Playing Coach. Former player and club favourite Scott Crawford will take over the reigns as Senior Non-Playing Coach, putting his hand up to experiance a passion to coach. Crawford will also help with the development of the Under 18 side. Bryce Grainger will make up the trio of coaches at the club taking the role of Chairman of Selectors. Bryce will also aid the development of future club guns in the Under 18's. Playing Assistant Coach will continue to be taken by Damien Ramsay . The club will also welcome new recruits from Yarraville Football Club, including the brother of coach Brett Cook, Seddon Football Club and the newly Division One placed Glenorden Football Club plus more.

The reserve team will see no changes to it's coaching line up with Brendan Wallace to continue his record long coaching time at the club. He will be looking for that finals spot that has eluded the Reserves team for the last few years.

The new Under 18 side, that will wear new strips from their junior days, will see long time junior coach, WFFC Chairman of Selectors and former WRFL Interleague Coach Darren Batties take over as first coach of this new side. It is believed the team will play in the A division competition. Steve Tuddenham will play a role as Assistant Coach and help turn these players into professional footballers that will serve the WFFC for years to come.

If anyone is interested in joining the club by any chance, there will be a information session on Friday, December 1st at the clubrooms. Pre-Season starts within the next 2 weeks.
