Nothing in it, no punches thrown, just a bit of push and shove. That's the third time we've played Heights in practice matches in recent years and all have been played in good spirit. Really appreciated the Heights boys driving down the road to our clubrooms to have a beer after the game.

I know practice match form can't always be a true measure but we drew with Glenorden last year at home and beat them the year before away and Heights beat us by ten scoring shots this time around. I thought they were probably a better all round team than Glenorden but didn't have the big targets at CHF and FF that Glenorden had.

Anyway, good luck to the Heights this year. It would be great to see an amateur team win the flag in a suburban comp.

mmm...interesting Old Warrior. I think after all our debating over the hot summer months that Heights are now closing in (on West) on favourtism for the flag... Did Nick Mallia play? left footer...No.18 I think...Grumpy, talented player who sledges the opposition and whinges at the umpires...

Thanks for the pump up Warrior.... I think the forward targets had a lot to do with the conditions... faisal and Steve Nicolaides will have an impact in better conditions.

Nick played an ok game..... and u are correct.... he is grumpy ..... could do with a shave to... looks like an animal!!!

from wot i heard westbourne were missing a few from the last couple of years, and practice match form doesnt mean 2 much. like i have said in the past we will be up there with the top 3 or 4 teams but wests would have 2 be clear favourites.

but only time will tell. any games this weekend around the western area? dont think heights could find a ground 4 the game against sydenham which is disapointing.

Not the report I got.... heard that you guys looked ordinary... and aprt from 3 or 4 players u aren't much chop!!

Must mention though that was also told u played well... taking a few gutsy marks across half back... which goes against TD's claim the u are a soft.

Played some pretty good footy, don't worry about us champ blah blah blah

Thanks for the detailed report on the game. Very interesting to see who played well, how new players went, scores, good signs, bad signs etc. Hope you didn't spend too much time and energy providing big footy with something interesting to read.

Seriously if you don't want to share anything of any intererest except your short replies to others comments why don't you just not get on at all. Watching the grass grow is more interesting than reading your posts 'champ'.

Does anyone know the result of West Footscray's practise match, did MJ, Ziggy, Innela and cam play? how did they go?

I was at the game on Saturday and can tell you that Werribee dominated the contest and the 13 goal margin was flattering for Albanvale. The tiges had 5 key players out and were always in control. Cobra's could not keep up with the hard running of Werribee and struggled to hit targets under pressure or even without. However they did have some good players including no 11, and there CHF who tried hard all day and will be dangerous if he can get the supply. Pretty tough side but Backline is suspect, Werribee's FF didnt play and they had a guy that was 5'5 playing there. Game played in great spirit. For those interested the cobra's 2's got beat by bout 15 goals.

Played @ Dunnstown on a ground that would match the MCG in grass cover. Sensational surface and even soft under foot for most of day.

2's played what started as a 16 a side game due to lack of numbers from both sides. Evenly posied game until last quater when a couple of the boys went down with injuries and Bunniyong kicked a few easy ones. Bunniyong by about 5 goals.

In the Seniors we were without Laney, Ziggy, Webbie and a few others.

Was a good game but very scrappy. Disposal lacked as expected at this time of year. No team really got on top of each other in the first half. Bunniyong's midfield were very good and were the difference in my opinion. Great to see quite a few of the younger West boys stepping up and playing tough skillful footy. Bunniyong by 4 goals. All guys had a good crack and will be better for it come next Saturday when we have take 2 against Westbourne.
Saliba, Innella and MJ were good with MJ & Innella both on the scoreboard.

No signifficant injuries came out of game either but I am sure there are a few guys throwing sickies today from being very sore.

i was at the albanvale game at the weekend, saw the first half only. albanvale did look very ordinary but there were patches in the 2nd quarter kicking against the wind where albanvale moved it well.

Karim u were having a bit of a dip u did a couple of nice things 1% and looked good coming off half back. however i would struggle to c how ur defence could match up against the boys from wests/deer park/ sunshine heights. u could find yourself having to match up on the likes of mallia, greto, chickey etc.

also the CHF bannet mentioned was probably bassey number 47 last year who played 2s all year, though he did present well. i would hope albanvale r still hiding a few recruits as they did not look like they have improved 1 iota since last year, with the 1s filled with at least 10 under 20's and 2s players from last year.

there was 1 positive from albanvale they have replaced mick azza with a new oiled up muscle bound pretty boy. the new ruckman i think number 35 was running around with his chest puffed out, trying to get a kick. not a bad tap ruckman but i didnt c him get many posessions in the first half.
