There is no such thing as a required player any more!
That excuse can't be used, everyone is free, you don't even need permission to train at another club any more either!
The poaching rule has now been outlawed by Football Victoria.
Any player can train and get a clearance to any club they like, the only way to stop players moving is to sign them up on a contract, even if it is for no dollars, but who would want to sign that?
Wrong buddy. At this stage in time, technically the poaching law is still in play. It will be removed at the next committee of management meeting to be held early next year. Therefore, you still need permission to train. The WRFL is in the process of adopting Football Victoria policies so that they fall into line with ALL leagues Victoria wide. This process has already begun and will be complete sometime in the next twelve months.
You are correct that "he is a required player" is no longer a legitimate excuse in regards to clearances. The only way a club can hold a player is; contract, the player is not financial or the player has club property that needs to be returned. These reasons are now, or soon to be enforced Victoria wide.

Rupertswood are in the VAFA. They are moving up to C grade next year after playing in the last 3 grand finals. They are looking to recruit a bit more toughness into the club to help with the jump in grades. Slammer last played there in 03.
Baines will be a big loss to West.
Also interesting to note I believe Inella is on 15 weeks suspension so if he gets one more week he may be (say may be because the WRFL are weak as piss) be deregistered. Nevertheless is an easy way of putting him off his game with that hanging over him.
Cubela gets bigger every year so should be close to not being able to run,
Lane is another year older and doesn't really score heavily against the top teams. . Tag 42 who is their best player (don't know his name as they don't list it and I can't remember) and sides will be half way to beating them.
So favourites are still Deer Park with West top 4 perhaps but not a clear second favourite.

Weapons lives in fantasy land. To get the truth of weapons posts divide what he says in half then divide that by half agin then it will be closer to the truth.
What do people at West think of the Phipps that is there as a bloke? I believe that all at West are not big fans. I know he can play so does he and will tell you how good he is given half a chance.
