Any truth to North Sunny Reserves game being called off again?

Good win by the Cobras today, home ground advantage helped a lot! Umpires also played a role (some absolute strange calls today) which was disappointing but credit where credit is due Cobras are a genuine threat. Winners all around the ground even after an 8 goal to 1 Suns come back in the third.

Duffield is a massive in for the Cobs, didn’t lose a tap all day and gave the ever so dangerous Saric plenty of the ball.

Now we wait another three-four weeks for a decent game of footy in Division 3.

If this is true just lock it up and get rid of the bye

You guys had your chances in the 2nd and capitalised on them, we had ours in the 3rd and capitalised on them. Umpires were pretty good overall, it was a fast game and the absolutely strange calls were nearly evenly spread. But that one that bounced up off the deck into the guy diving for the ball being given a mark????!!!! Resulting in an Albanvale goal??? Sheesh.

Plenty of if-onlys on the Suns part, it was a game of two halves, full credit to the Cobras and footy was the winner on the day. See you later in the year.
I was at this game. Surely you don’t think Cobras got the rub of the green? Umpires brought the Suns right back into it in the third. It was bordering on cheating. Anyway was a great last quarter. Best two sides played today.

As a reader of this forum great post. This forum used to be horrible to be honest but great to read some honest comments.
Ps: yes umpires do there best and remember it’s div3 so be fair. At least you get umpires so that’s a good thing. 👍👍😄😄

Game wasn’t called off, it happened at games end after the siren, umpires were asked what they are going to do and the reply was ‘nothing, siren has gone, game is over’ still thought they would have a duty of care still but clearly not. Police were called also is what I’m hearing.

Umpires will leave the field once spectators come on the ground. Might have been the case if the siren had gone.

Amidst the COVID gloom, Braybrook are pleased to have signed ex-AFL player A. Proud. Looking forward to seeing him strut his stuff alongside his brother Johnny.

What’s your thought guys
Do you think we will come back for finals?

Pretty tough year with a few rounds missing and the likes of a few more,

I really feel the WRFL has dropped off with the commitment to division 3

seems like an afterthought

Realistically best case we are back playing 31st, hopefully worse case the 7th Aug. WRFL has done what they can, it is frustrating for everyone. I feel for the Juniors most of us have played enough footy in our life, even this small lockdown with the timing will see a number of kids leaving the game as their season will be over unless playing finals

Got sent this about edfl not sure how true it is.. interesting read though

Good evening all

The EDFL has today released the outcome of the board meeting ratifying the next steps post lockdown.

Juniors – The season will be extended so that Rounds 12 and 13 can be played on Sunday the 1st August and Sunday the 8th August. To allow for this Round 14 will be lost and shortened finals series will take place. For Divisions 1-4 there will be a two week finals series (1 v 4 and 2 v 3) with the winners to play in a Grand Final. For Divisions 5 and below the top two teams (1 and 2) will play off in a Grand Final.

Thirds - the last round (13) will be lost and a shortened two week final series will take place (1 v 4 and 2 v 3 with winners to Grand Final).

Women’s – The season will resume on the 31st July at Round 11 with Rounds 12 and 13 to be played. Round 14 will be lost and a shortened two week final series will take place (1 v 4 and 2 v 3 with winners to Grand Final).

Men’s Div.1– The season will resume on the 31st July at Round 12. The final two Rounds 17 and 18 will be lost. A full final series will then take place.

The fixtures have not been updated until it is confirmed that we can recommence on 30th July.
Therefore whatever is currently fixtured including grounds , teams and times will all need to be changed once we are certain that we can restart the season.

Until then take care

Hope so mate, presume if we play this week we just carry on as per fixture (without crowds).

If we back this week, with current fixture suns will play 1 more game than the cobras so no chance we can finish first with the win % set up. If we kick off on the 7th top 4 will all play same amount of games

I'm crying for you, dude. Don't forget the 5 missed games for the Suns includes North Sunshine twice and Laverton once and a bye. No disrespect to either team but that's completely screwed the percentage. If we don't play to the 7th that will include Tarneit as well.

Just the luck of the draw.

Tend to agree with (some parts of) this, more so luck of the draw. In our case we really wanted an opportunity to play the top teams to try & hopefully knock them off to give ourselves an opportunity to finish with a second chance but with the games lost it’s not possible. We’ve also been hurt with missed home games and playing with no crowds (last time Suns and probably this week against Norf - maybe rest of the year?). What can you do man. 🤷🏼‍♂️

For you guys I wouldn’t worry too much Karim, besides bragging rights, in a final four finishing 1st or 2nd isn’t any difference. Both get a second chance and if you win the 1st week you get a week off.

Hopefully we can get footy back this week and we can continue the season uninterrupted from here. Bloody hard for committees at Club level this year.

pretty silly if u ask me, should have at least got everyone playing same amount of games, we still havnt played lavo both times coz of lockdown. Surely a lil fixture reshuffle could have been done. Anyways just glad we back up and going hopefully no more interruptions 🤞
