Jye Caldwell

“He was really strong inside and continues to produce an AFL-level product at this level. He was clean inside and we know how hard he is and he was able to show his use and his ability to hit the scoreboard with four goals today.”

Sam Jacobs

“Another strong performance from ‘Sauce’. We know Mumford has the ruck spot at the moment but we know Sam is there and ready to go when called upon. He continues to show what he can around the ground and equally inside where he gives our inside mids first opportunity.”

Zac Langdon

“He played on-ball for the majority of the day and relished the new role inside. He tackled unbelievably well but then was able to use his fast feet and give us some great run on the outside. Another one who added that execution and ball-use that we know he’s capable of.”

Matt Buntine

“‘Bunts’ is just brimming along and he’s AFL-ready for when the call comes. You just get consistency week-in and week-out from him and he’s ready to go when called upon.”

Jake Riccardi

“Riccardi, Sproule and Buckley played forward, wing and half-back with the numbers and each position we threw Jake in he applied himself really well. We know he’s strong in the air so when he went back he was able to have a presence there. We know as a forward he’s continuing to develop and come along as one of our key forwards and he was able to show his running up the ground as a winger. It was a good opportunity today for him.”

Zach Sproule

“Sproule was up forward for a bit and then I thought he was really good down back. He really attacked the ball, tackled well and defended as a backman and really showed his high work rate and his speed when he gets on the wing and high as a forward. Another step in the right direction for him.”

Matt Flynn

“Great to have the big man back. He got out there and he took the big clunks we know he can take. He covered the ground really well which is a credit to him and the work he’s done through his rehab as well as Simon Harries and our whole high performance staff to get him back to the level where he can step right in and look like he hasn’t missed a beat. He had a bit of a jump in the ruck and was great with his follow up so it was a great first-up run from ‘Flynny’.”

Kieren Briggs

“He was really strong again. Having Flynn and Jacobs in the team, ruck spots are tight time-wise, but when he goes inside, his ability to jump gives us first use but he’s added that follow up and then he was able to be really strong for us as a forward and take some key marks. He’s covering the ground as well as we’ve seen.”

Xavier O’Halloran

“He just keeps taking positive steps inside. His case for AFL just keeps getting stronger and stronger. He’s strong inside, he’s continuing to work on his first touch and first give but his ability to drive and take us forward and he’s added his ball use. He’s going to be a great inclusion when it comes.”

Nick Shipley

“He’s just becoming a really strong and consistent winger for us which gives our boys a lot of confidence when he’s able to get back and help our defenders. His leadership and communication is really coming along in that sense and I thought his ball use is as good as we’ve seen which he’ll continue to add to. Another one that week-in and week-out is continuing to take positive steps and pushing his case.”

Bobby Hill

“A really strong Bobby Hill performance. He’s building his brand with his pressure and his chase and he took another great step to work his way back into the AFL from that angle. We know what he does with the ball and his selflessness is a great attribute. He was able to get a bit of inside time and show those fast feet and his clean skills and really shone.”

Connor Idun

“It was definitely his best game for the year. He’s another one that week-in and week-out is continuing to take positive steps. He was really strong defensively today on an array of opponents - tall and small - which is a great attribute to have as a key defender. H’s on the right path in his development to get back to AFL level.”

Jake Stein

“He was good two weeks ago, better last week and then even better today. Like most of these boys, they continue to put consistent performances in and he’s one of them who got back to his strong marking game today and that ruthless defence we know he’s capable of. He’s another one pushing his case.”

Jack Buckley

“He couldn’t be going much better. He played a fair bit of wing today, not that he’s played or trained much there. He went there and his running is so strong and he’s clean. He took to it like a duck to water and he couldn’t be going much better in terms of his development and it’s a credit to him.”

Callum Brown

“Good to have him back. He’s been chomping at the bit to get back out there since he arrived back from Ireland. From the get-go, it was a credit to our high performance staff to get him ready for today and he just didn’t look like he missed a beat. He was strong, he was quick, he was clean and he attacked the ball. His run and carry will be critical for us going forward and he’s another one who had a great first-up run.

Caldwell miles too good for that level.

In fact can't really work out why he went out in the first place.
Puzzling isn't it. And then when an inside mid (Ward) went out, we didn't bring him back in.

For goodness sake, give him an extended run and see how he goes. He'll learn even if he makes mistakes.

Couldn't give the team less than Sheridan gave us today.

Jye Caldwell

“He probably can’t be going much better. He continues to perform week-in and week-out and his consistency is there now. Whenever the opportunity comes, he’s AFL ready.”

Sam Jacobs

“We’ve got Jacobs, Flynn and Briggs all vying for that ruck spot at the moment and they’re all taking their turns. He’s another one who is there and ready to go when called upon. He was really strong in the air for us and ran the game out well.”

Tommy Sheridan

“Tommy came back and his experience and ability to perform that role for us out on the wing, whether it’s AFL level or NEAFL level, you get the exact same kind of application and execution from him. He was really strong today.”

Tim Taranto

“It was great to have Tim back. It was a great hit-out for him against quality opposition on the inside. As the game went on, he just got better and better.”

Zac Langdon

“He continues to play inside for us again and was really strong. He was clean today, we know how strong he is with his tackling and he continues to add to his ball use and execution for us so another really strong performance.”

Matt Buntine

“He was really good today. You know what you get with him but you can’t take it for granted. He continues to go back with the flight, he continues to provide leadership and drive for the young backs around him but also he takes care of his own game. He tackled unbelievably well and was really strong and added to our ball use at times.”

Jake Riccardi

“Jake continues on in his development as a key forward. He came up against a really strong defensive unit in the Hawks. He had to take his opportunities when got them which was good. He just continues to add steps on his journey which is good.”

Zach Sproule

“Sprouley was really good. We know what we get with his work rate, his ability to get up the ground and then get back in and provide an option. He was really clean for us today, he went back for a little bit and competed really hard. He was really crucial for us at certain stages.”

Matt Flynn

“In his second game back off his ACL, he just continues to get better. He got a bit more ruck time in the second half and continues to show us his ability to fight in the air but his ability to follow up at ground level was a highlight.”

Kieren Briggs

“He continues to get stronger and stronger every week. He plays a fair chunk forward at the moment but when he goes into the ruck he really jumps at it and his follow up was just as good. He also provided a really strong contest for us forward of the ball.”

Nick Shipley

“Really good from Shippers. He continues to add to his ball use and his execution and offensive drive. He keeps adding to those defensive efforts we know he’s building his game on.”

Bobby Hill

“Bobby was really good today. His pressure, which is what he wants to be known for, was on show with repeat efforts. He’s only adding to his running by getting up and getting back in. Another strong performance from Bobby.”

Connor Idun

“Really good from Connor. He was able to take different opponents, tall or small, and was really strong in the air. Defensively he was outstanding and him and Stein worked really well together and held us strong down back.”

Jake Stein

“In the same mould as Idun, he’s just getting better and better every week. He’s getting back to the Steiny we know. He’s a fierce competitor in the air and was able to be really clean at ground level for us. He’s starting to add the ball movement we know he's capable of.”

Jack Buckley

“We throw him around in a variety of roles at the moment and everywhere he goes he steps up to the challenge. His fundamentals of work rate, cleanliness and being strong in the air are holding up across the board. We couldn’t be happier with how he’s going.”

Callum Brown

“He’s in his second game back now and getting better and better as every minute goes on. His ability to attack the ball and read it in the air was outstanding. He continues to learn and grow in his knowledge of certain specifics of the game defensively and offensively. In terms of sheer attack on the footy and use, he was great.”

Jackson Hately

“He responded really well coming back from AFL. He played back inside and reminded us of the qualities as an inside-mid that he has. He was strong, clean and brought his teammates into it. He really led the way inside for us.”

Tom Green

“Another strong performance inside from Green. We know he’s clean with his hands and he accentuated that today. He was able to bring others into it as well as adding the ability to spread and get to contests which showed with the amount of ball he ended up having.”

Tom Hutchesson

“A great return from Hutchy which is a credit to him and our rehab staff for him to be able to step in and have a genuine impact for us. A lot to like about his return, there was plenty of excitement there with him so it’s a really positive step.”

Matt Buntine

“We say he’s consistent week-in, week-out but he’s actually getting stronger. His leadership within the back group is a given but his aerial courage and he’s adding to his ball use as well which is only going to benefit us. He’s ready to go when called on.”

Jake Riccardi

“Really good from Ricca. As a developing forward who is a bit more mature, week-in and week-out he just keeps on adding to his game. We know he can hit the scoreboard but his ability late in the game to play up high and show off his running ability is great. Another one who brings others into it with his hands and his use going into the front half.”

Matt Flynn

“His third game back and he had more time in the ruck with Sam Jacobs going up to AFL level. He really grabbed the opportunity with his physical presence around the ball and was able to follow up and give us good use around it. He competed really hard for us around the ground.”

Kieren Briggs

“In the same boat as Flynn, he gave us great first use at centre bounce with his jump and his follow up today improved. He was able to get involved in chains around the ball and he gave us really strong presence down the line and in the air.”

Xavier O’Halloran

“He played a variety of roles today and executed each to a high level. We know he has the running capacity but he was strong inside and able to drive the ball forward whether he was playing inside, half-forward or wing.”

Nick Shipley

“It was a change for Shippers who went to half-back today. He gave us a lot of drive and run out of there that we know he’s been showing on the wing. He was able to add some defensive stuff and fight some one-on-ones which was pleasing. It was another strong performance from Shippers.”

Bobby Hill

“He responded really well coming back from AFL. He worked on what he had to work on but also really accentuated his strengths today. His ball use and his ability to bring others into it was a highlight - along with a trademark ‘specky’.”

Connor Idun

“He gets better and better every week. He competes and competes from minute one to minute 100. We have a lot of trust in Connor now and he’s a strong, developing defender who each week wins his position.”

Jack Buckley

“We keep saying he’s getting better and better every week and we couldn’t be happier with how he’s going. Another great performance that highlighted his work rate and now he’s adding the finishing. He kicked four goals after playing predominately wing before moving forward, it wasn’t just kicking them in space but contested marks too. He’s doing everything right at the moment.”

Callum Brown

“Another one that’s getting better and better every week. We know he provides drive and run and some real dash but his defensive stuff and his attack on the ball is growing week by week so we’re really happy with how he’s tracking.”

Callan Ward

“It was a good return by Wardy in a bit of a different role for him across half-back. He did a great job in his rehab to just miss two weeks and he’ll be better for this run.”

Jackson Hately

“It was another solid performance from Jacko and while he’s customarily come into the AFL side on the wing, he continues to show his inside mid capabilities at this level. He’s continuing to push for a return to the AFL.”

Tommy Sheridan

“Tommy returned from a couple of weeks out with a solid performance on the wing. It’s always harder for him with a smaller field size and just one wing but it was good to get game time into him.”

Tom Green

“Tom continues in his development and really brings his strengths every week. He continues to work on the parts of his game he needs to which will hold him in really good stead for a return to the AFL.”

Tom Hutchesson

“It was another strong performance from Hutchy in his second game back from injury. He was lively around the ball when it went forward and will likely push his case for AFL level in the next couple of weeks.”

Jake Riccardi

“Jake continues to get better and better in that key forward role. He continues to grow his game as part of our program and will put some selection pressure on at AFL level."

Zach Sproule

“Zach missed last week a bit sore so he was good again first-up after a break. He had some time in Swans colours and did some nice things for us when he was back with us.”

Matt Flynn

“It was a strong performance from Flynny, he’s well and truly back in the swing of footy after his knee. He got some more ruck time and will be pushing for AFL selection very soon.”

Kieren Briggs

“He also got some more ruck time with the layout of the game and at times got to go up against Flynn which was great. He continues to build on his game and his follow up around the ground was excellent.”

Xavier O’Halloran

“X probably exemplified the game for us. He was a little scrappy early but really worked his way into it and had a really important impact on the game later on.”

Nick Shipley

“Shippers is continuing to develop in a new role across half-back and to work on his defensive skills. He started well for the Swans when he was in their colours and then continued on with that form for us.”

Bobby Hill

“We love it when the ball is in Bobby’s hands. He was creative and continues to work on his consistency and defensive game. He laid some really good tackles late in the game.”

Connor Idun

“Big C was probably our best player and he competed really hard. His defensive game has been really strong and today he added to his ability to intercept and give us some drive from the backline.”

Adam Kennedy

“Kenners returned off a long layoff and it was great to have him back on the field. He got better and better as the game went on and showed us the run and carry he’s known for.”

Jake Stein

“A really solid performance from Steiny. He gives us a good contest in the air and consistently defends well.”

Jack Buckley

“Bucks continues to show us what we know are his strengths - his run, work rate and hardness in tackles. He’s also continuing to add to his kicking game to push for a spot at AFL level.”

Callum Brown

“Cal started very well for the Swans, setting up their first goal. He took the game on - as we know he does - and had some really strong defensive plays late that sealed the game for us.”

Connor Idun

"He continued his outstanding form. He’s really holding down that back five for us at the moment. He continues to get better and better every week, definitely ready to go when needed.”

Jake Stein

“Steiny - best game he's played for us this year. He was really strong in the air. Didn't get beaten at ground level. He was really strong.”

Nick Shipley

“It was really strong by Shippers. It’s his third game at half-back and he’s really starting to use the football and give us a lot of drive off half-back. He continues to work on his defensive side of the game but a really pleasing performance.”

Callum Brown

"Browny continues to get better and better every week and continues to do something that surprises us. His physicality and his strength in the air and on the ground, but then he's able to run and carry like we know we can.”

Adam Kennedy

“Ken is in his second game back and he was really strong for us down back. Shows good leadership, his ball use was outstanding for us and he competed hard all day.”

Matt Flynn

“Really good ruck battle. We know they've got some really good rucks with Phillips and a couple of really good young ruckman. Flynny fought hard all day and gave us a great presence down the line. He fought hard in the air and that’s pleasing.”

Tom Green

“Played inside and was outstanding in these sort of conditions, that definitely suit him. He was able to just show his hardness and cleanliness around the footy, giving us first hands on it. He was huge.”

Jackson Hately

“He was the same as Tom. It’s his third game back as an inside-mid. He really showed his strength and his cleanliness inside. Him and Greeny worked really well together and gave us an edge inside.”

Tommy Sheridan

“He played a bit inside and bit outside. His ability to run and cover the ground and create an outnumber for us. He's using the ball as good as ever, which is really, really pleasing.”

Zach Sproule

“Probably slightly down last week and responded really well. Got himself up and around the footy. Gave us a great target coming out of our back 50 all day.”

Jack Buckley

“He was probably unlucky to not be at AFL level and responded accordingly today. He was one of our cleanest in the trying conditions. He's one of our hardest, in terms of his tackling. Another fantastic performance from Bucks.”

Jake Riccardi

“He started really well. Gave us a great presence up front. Strong hands, continues to bring his teammates into it. Copped a little knock midway through the second but was able to fight through and still have an impact for us.”

Kieren Briggs

“Joined in the good ruck battle. His ability to give hands on in the middle but then his follow up today was great. And then he was able to provide a big target late for us up front.”

Bobby Hill

“He worked hard all day to have an impact when he was around it. Another one that was really clean in the conditions and able to hit the scoreboard. A pleasing performance.”

NEAFL No More

Least our 2’s will be playing in a stronger competition, which can only be a good thing

However it will be interesting to see how we structure it though
