such a shame for Andreescu. was really emotional on the court as well. I hope it is not bad. The WTA with Andreescu is a much better place.

tennis is a funny sport. Barty should have lost the first round, after being 5-2, MP down in the 3rd. now, she keeps her number 1 ranking with a lead of 1200 over Osaka. Still, hard for Barty to keep hold of it but Osaka will now, at least, have to work for it in the Clay and Grass seasons.

It truly is. One of the great aspects of the sport is that you can be in such a bad position in a tournament and come out and still win it. Barty played pretty poorly in that opening match, but improved with each match.

Considering osaka hasn't done much on clay or grass yet, ash has a good chance to hold on to the ranking for a while.

I forget how big Miami actually is.

Really shaping up to be a ripping year.

That is a really good record against the top 10. Not something I knew anything about.

Really need Barty to stop throwing in bad sets/matches against the "lesser" players at slams. She lost to Muchova, Riske, Kenin and Wang Qiang in her recent grand slam losses since she won the French(ironically won without facing any top talent).

Barty looking the goods to extend her winning ways. Hasnt quite been at her absolute best because of probably feeling tiredness but shes going just well enough to get the job done today. If she can win this week will go about 1700 points ahead of osaka in rankings

Big upset win that. She is kind of like the female Popyrin. Good serve and a bit limited outside of that. Deserves to be ranked way higher than 180 odd though. It should put her in / towards the top 100 you'd think.
