I have a feeling she might lose to Bartoli again but otherwise this is a great chance to get some points. I would be very disappointed if she wasn't able to get out of her group.

few heart attacks with sam stosur in control @ 6-2 1-0 and 40-30 then blowing it to lose the 2nd set 6-3, then 2-1 in the 2nd set managed to break on her 3rd break pt after saving a few game pts aswell, then broke again at 4-1 to take it home comfortably for me....

Probably not. Just because Sam is expected to do well here, and really even though she won Osaka (weak field), her form before that was crap. Thought Lisicki would be in for a good run, but losing to Rezai, maybe not.
Im gonna go with Wickmayer.

Stosur plays tommorow against Martinez Sanchez.

Who can predict Sammy's form though, there's so little room for error it seems in her game as she can go hot then cold in an instant. Hence, the scoreline from yesterday.

I really don't know how she's going to handle this summer, espically if she somehow manages to win this and get in the top 10, there's going to be huge expectations on her to do well, not sure how she'll handle it. I'm already having nightmares she'll bomb out first round night match but we'll see.

Big, big opportunity wasted. But yeah i guess it could be a blessing in disguise afterall, entering the Australian summer a top 10 player may have been too much to handle. Perhaps as it already is it may be too much. Will be interesting to see how she does though. First time she's actually well placed to go deepish at the Aus Open. Crucial she gets off to a good start to the season though, doubt she'll defend those Roland Garros Semi Final points.

Im gonna go with Wickmayer.

Never making a prediction again. Shit rule.

Yeah, just bizarre what's happening with Wickmayer, first off it's the Belgian Tennis Fed. banning not the ITF or WTA. Why on earth would you announce this to begin during such a big event like this week is for her. Does every country follow this procedure? Why would Malisse and Wickmayer be the only two breaking this rule, I really struggle to believe this. Just let the ITF deal with the drug banning, this is just so unfair on the players with what is basically a fairly harsh rule. Poor Wickmayer, she make her first GS semi and then this happens. If I was Belgian tennis supporter I would be sick right now.

Not only am I curious about how Sam does in the Australian summer, also how she does during the clay season, clay suits her I reckon, hopefully she can draw on that confidence from that RG semi to get good results in places like Rome etc.

i think we have seen the best of sam stosur.......:(
