Going to be a huge 3 months for her. A bad result at IW could lose her the number 1 ranking before the clay season, which would be her least favourite surface. She could spiral if she continues to be a wreck.

And let's be honest, guys. She just lost to the best train wreck in the WTA. Huge danger signs. And her reactions to that are not good at all. She is still only 21 after all.

Meh, her game has can go off the boil (even though it's so good) and possibly a tough week like the last week can be a factor, early round losses in IW and Miami would have me more worried.

Still no Coco so Barty teaming up with Caro Garcia. They play the Czech top seeds in the first round. If they both win second round singles then will play each other.
Gavrilova finally gets a good result beating Yastremska in three.
Azarenka v S Williams second round, come on Azza.
Babos/Kiki lose first up to Mertens/Sabalenka.
 
Just realised Naomi’s 1st match could be Kristina Mladenovic who just beat her in the 1st round in Dubai.

Would be rare for anyone to lose to the same player in consecutive matches, let alone for the #1 player to be the loser.

Somewhat of a collapse against Minella after winning the first set.
Lost her serve 10 times, the last 8 in a row. Dropping the eighth game of the second set with however many deuces probably knocked the stuffing out of her.
 
Bertens is now a mere 971pts adrift of no.1. She has to defend a Madrid final and Wimbledon QF between now and Cincy.

Pliskova seems enroute for a career best YE ranking.

she really should be beating to Minella. She beat Bencic in Hobart and now losing to a returning veteran on clay(ish). Take about a huge change in form.

She has huge points to defend via a title soon. She has to get that confidence back soon or she will be falling down the rankings again.
