Free kick was there.
Probably holding both ways.

Definitely a turning point as the momentum swung after it.
Without being too harsh on the lad, Collins needs to spend the summer in the gym and learn to push.
Hopefully the gym will be packed at punt road over summer.

Yeah a pathetic & petty decision, but as I said in the votes thread...the decision to not pay HTB against Cornes minutes later was even worse...and probably just as costly in the wash up...

that decision hurt, unfortunately the ump was right on that one.

the umpire was right, unfortunately he missed the times our players were getting held in full nelsens
I still don't think it was there. Collins got held too did you notice?

was a freekick, they were both holding at first, but when the ball got to the contest collins opponent let go and he continued to hold on.

I felt what cost us was their 10 goals in the 2nd QTR to our one. :(

you're dead right, that is why my normal fit of rage quickly subsided when the reality of the contest set in, we gifted the bloody game to them, More I50's bombing it in like kick to kick in the schoolyard..blundering easy set shots..had we put a lid on their momentum and not allowed them to press morean 5 or goals out we would have reeled them in...50pts is a bit rich

Moreover, what was the free kick against King paid for? From what I saw, he not only spoiled it legitimately, he was the only one to contest it!

A shocking display from the umpiring department, as usual.

As Kingy spoilt he let his left arm drift over the sholder of the port guy. Absolutely nothing in it but technically correct.

And Collins might have got a way with it if he didn't have a fist full of jumper.

Was just a good contest a few years back but by todays standards it was there for the umpire to be bigger than the game and decide a match.

Although im full of shit as i dont understand the holding the ball rule anymore...is incorrect disposal not a rule anymore? its rugby? just throw it out when tackled...play on...as long as the ball keeps moving.

Generally I think decision depends on if the player is wearing a yellow sash or not.

were a few baffling ones each way.

Lost it ourselves though with awful over-possesion. (I blame TW for being there.)

Jeez that comeback almost made it worthwhile though- if only we hadve managed 5 minutes of that intensity in the 1st half

Soft call that totally killed our momentum. One of those decisions that might be technically there but less would be said if it hadn't been called. Should have been let go.

Would you still say that if the roles were reversed and the resulting goal sealed the game for the enemy?

If the umpires see a fist full of jumper they have to pay holding. Unfortunately they saw this one.

Pity they never see Jack up the other end. At one stage yesterday, Jack had three players on him and was held down, so he couldn't leap at the ball. Not only did he have a case for a free kick, probably had a case for a rape charge as well...

lol, True. Criticism for missed frees is warranted, but not for getting one right though.

If the roles were reversed, I wouldn't be surprised if no call was made. I probably wouldn't have even noticed the infringement as that kind of thing happens dozens of times per game and is paid inconsistently.

As for Jack, there was one play where he had a good case for three seperate free kicks. He was being held by the arm, another players had their arm over his shoulder and then he was pushed in the back and ridden into the ground. Couldn't believe the umps missed all three.
