Anyone else a fan?

I've liked them for ages...but finally today bought "The W". Excellent Hip Hop, with heaps o guests lendin they skillz: Snoop Dogg, Redman, Junior Reid, Nas, Isaac Hayes, Busta Rhymes and the rest o the crew...

Also looking for recommendations of other stuff like this....other Wu albums, side projects, blah.

if your interested, download these songs they the best in hip hop (my opinion). its mostly old school which i prefer but a bit of new stuff as well.

bakin soda in minnesota- andre nickotina
earth people- dr octagon
get by- talib kweli
i got a man- positive k
all falls down- kanye west
anything by RJD2

I presume you've already got 36 chambers?...Classic album.
I agree with the recommendations of Viktor Vaughn (& any other MF Doom stuff) and Dr Octagon, though their styles are nothing like Wu-Tang.

I haven't listened to many of their side projects, but try Ghostface's 'Supreme Clientele' and 'The Pretty Toney Album'. Get Genius/GZA's 'Liquid Swords' as well. Some people like RZA as Bobby Digital but I wasn't a big fan of it.

Used to really enjoy listening to Wu-Tang. 36 Chambers and Forever were simply brilliant. After that I sought of lost interest, although I bought The W and Iron Flag which were decent releases, but they were missing something. Ol' Dirty Bastard. Wu was never the same without him.

As for other Wu stuff, Method Man and ODB are clearly the 2 best members. There side stuff is really good. Red & Meth's Blackout is short but quality, and Meth's solo albums are worth listening to as well.

ODB's greatest hits album is worth getting as well. It combines the best stuff from his 2 previous albums which had some dud songs, but some really good ones as well, along with some other stuff.

Didn't rate Wu-Tang Killa Bees or Wu-Chronicles. Didn't rate any other Wu members' solo stuff either.

Dig out all the early stuff like...

36 Chambers.
Ironman (Ghostface)
Tical (Meth)
Only Built for Cuban Lynx (Raekwon)
The Pillage (Capadonna)
The two Ol' Dirty albums
Beneath the Surface (GZA)
The first Gravediggaz album (with RZA and the greatest hip-hop producer, Prince Paul.)

But most of their later stuff is largely forgettable.

The fall of the Wu coincided with hip-hop losing its way.

Favourite disc on the whole is Forever side 2. Good to chill out on the computer, crank at a party or in your car. Versatile stuff.

Some of my favourite tracks:

Shame on da fellow
C.R.E.A.M.
Method Man
Protect Ya Neck (Oh, again? Again and again!)
Impossible
Little Ghetto Boys
Bells of War
Chamber Music
Protect Ya Neck - the Jump Off
Rules
Iron Flag

A shame the whole clothing brand has reflected poorly on their musical reputation.

Is 'The W' the album with gravelpit on it. If so i agree, i never thought i would get into anything Wu Tang did, but that is an excellent album.

Yep. If you like The W you will love their other albums as that one was probably their worst.

Wu – Tang are great. Have been a fan now for many years. (yet I despise most people who wear the clothing) My favorite track tops this list:

Triumph
C.R.E.A.M
Wu Tang Clan aint nuthin to f*** wit
The Mystery of Chessboxin
Reunited
Bells of War
Chrome Wheels (think this is the one. Has female vocals innit?)
Uzi
Careful
I cant go to sleep (with the intro from the track before it)
Gravel Pit

Most of these are well known tracks are should satisfy most

(think il dust off a couple of these cds and ave a listen)

36 chambers and gza - liquid swords are by far thest albums IMO. After wu-tang forever they went downhill and most albums contained to much filler. Gravediggaz - 6 feet deep (niggamortis) is a great album to checkout. It was side project of rza's done in 94 just before the solo's hit.

Although the Wu-Tang clothes embody the worst aspects of hip-hop, the song which launched the label - 'Wu-Wear' - is one of their best.
