Seatbelts give people a false sense of security as well and you see this in all the cars that crash and then the seatbelt isn't 100% effective. They certainly shouldn't be licensed for use by consenting adults.

The UK has granted shortcutted approval to roll out the Oxford/AstraZenecca vaccine under Regulation 174 of the Human Medicine Regulations 2012 which enables rapid temporary regulatory approvals to address significant public health issues such as a pandemic.

The efficacy in their main trial was not very impressive at 62%. They have now gone full Tony Blair in flawed thinking vaccinating as many people with one dose is the best policy. And also saying that the key to the success of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is a longer gap between the two doses.

The evidence from the Oxford/AstraZenecca trial does not support this emergency approval by the UK government to implement this vaccine to millions of people.

the premise of your question is something i have fault with

as we have seen across multiple govts, the notion one man or woman has all the answers on this is insane

the govts that are doing this well are the ones who have a team of people working together and taking unfiltered advice.

i have zero issue with a poli having no clue, as long as they know this and instead have the skill of finding and empowering the right people

the problem today is everyone wants to be a USA style president, and empowering others is seen as weakness

Disagree. Cooperation was strong last time. When full cooperation wasn't given, questions should be asked as to why people felt the need to lie and circumvent government directives, and I hope the government made changes from their side.
