Continued in Part 5:

Deaths are difficult to under-report, cases though - that's so easy to under report all they need to do is not get tested.

Deaths are very easy to under report

You need a positive covid test result to even say the person who died had covid. As we saw in China and Italy and then Brasil, when people are dying at home they don't get tested. Suspect it's the same in India too

Not sure that's the case when you has mass funeral pyres and an overstretched bureaucracy not known for its efficiency at the best of times.

I was seeing some Indian people saying private hospitals under report by at least a third and government hospitals are a lot better and resonably accurate, and then there are people who don't get to hospital so the under reporting is pretty substantial. Maybe 20x Maybe 30x or more times higher than official numbers. When you consider things like in 70% of India there is about one hospital bed per ten thousand people and hospitals have been full for weeks and in one state yesterday Gudjirat there were 89 reported covid deaths and over 700 approved covid funerals and then there are scores of unapproved covid funerals you can see 30X higher than the offical death rate is more likely than not.
Even in normal times 20% of deaths in India go unreported and covid is the worst disaster anyone has ever seen in India.

Also saw the excess mortality in Russia in the last 12 months is around 500,000 above a normal year.

Don't use it. What they saying?

They are the source of everything from Dan Andrews "truth" about his back, to the lockdown being used to smuggle PLA troops into Melbourne, to the Governor General is going to impose martial law on Victoria, evict the Andrews govt, and impose an admin staffed with former adf generals.

And that's before we touch on the crazy about the vaccine (everything from its failed FDA but the govt lied, to secret morgues hiding vaccine deaths, to every bill gates conspiracy

People seem to think just because an idiot posts something on Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, etc it's credible. It's not. They are just the modern age drunk talking s**t at the pub. Only difference is a bigger audience means more likelihood of gullible morons falling for this s**t

Case in point QAnon.

So india decided to go down Sweden's path of herd immunity with a population of 1.4 billion and 1 doctor per 1,000 people.

Indias's issues need context, are funeral pyres in the street unusual? Are deaths higher than usual? Are their hospitals normally overrun?

Like no doubt things are going poorly there, but id like the hard data.

Have a look at that New Yorker interview with an Indian data journalist, a few posts back. Shows how hard it is to get hard data and how they are using indicators to get a feel for what's going on.

They have run out of oxygen. Their doctors have reported medical system collapse. The true death toll from Covid is likely much higher than reported 200k.

Meanwhile, Modhi is more worried about getting Tweets deleted.

Rumors lots of folks dying sleep in Victoria post astrazeneca
At my local ED we are encouraged to mark anything that might be vaccine related as such (it’s to drive forming a clinic to avoid going to ED for the worried well). That said I have seen one highly likely reaction (needed adrenaline about 15 minutes post AZ), and a few equivocal (palpitations/ fatigue later in the day persisting for a few days); and others with leg pain, headache, short of breath (usually subjective not objective) up to 3 weeks after vaccine (one was post Pfizer too)

...and holding political rallies. As with his populist birds of feather Trump and Bolsonaro, his country is learning the hard way a pretty obvious truth- you can’t bullshit a virus.

Repulsive. If politicians aren't required to wear a mask all day and night in their homes, then how come a homeless woman is?

The ScoMo thread would be nearly empty without people posting rubbish from Twitter!

But I do have friends who are conspiracy theorists on FB, holy crap it’s funny to read!!! But they hate all governments equally.

It’s funny because they give her a free face mask then, but you’re not supposed to wear the same disposable mask so who is supplying the homeless with an unlimited mask supply? You can’t expect a homeless person to waste their little money on crap.

I think the bigger issue is helping homeless people get off the street for good.

??

Dunno how you arrived at this conclusion.

I had a look and there is about one Tweet per page over the last 5 pages.

That’d be a first or did the serial Twitter posters get banned too? Normally not only is there plenty of Twitter rubbish but the same one gets reposted 3-4 times

Doubt they will be able to make any charges to court. Would be a PR disaster
