Covid-19 Wuhan Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Part 5 - Get vaccinated.

https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infec...d-19-vaccination-case-surveillance-051121.pdf

In the peak fortnight of the outbreak to date (25 August to 7 September), the COVID-19 case rate among 2-dose vaccinated people was 49.5 per 100,000 while in unvaccinated people it was 561 per 100,000, a more than 10-fold difference. The rates of COVID-19 ICU admissions or deaths peaked in the fortnight 8 September to 21 September at 0.9 per 100,000 in 2-dose vaccinated people compared to 15.6 per 100,000 in unvaccinated people, a greater than 16-fold difference.

More scared of a small part of a dead virus than a full blown live one! Silly
Are you under the impression that viruses are 'alive'?

If so, you might consider taking some time to look into the official story.

Most 'experts' do not consider viruses to be alive.

Some say they are in a 'grey zone' between living and dead.

But don't worry, these guys are experts, they must know what they're talking about :thumbsu:

If you want to pass most tests, the answer is that viruses are not alive because they don't complete all of the seven life processes. However people refer to them as "live" because they reproduce (meaning they are active) and its easier to say "a live virus" but its never referred to as a "living thing". Its also why you say "strains" of virus and not "species".

Its more about terminology here though, as who you quoted said "More scared of a small part of a dead virus than a full blown live one! Silly" not ALIVE which was the word you used.

To be fair, the person you quoted is closer to correct than you are. The measles vaccine for example is called an attenuated vaccine, but its also known as a LIVE attenuated vaccine. This is because it uses a weakened pathogen but keeps it viable for use in the vaccine, or you know, they keep it live.

Live doesn't mean living in this case, it means its active.

Thank you the technical jargon.

It seems you agree with me, though.

God forbid you’d use technical jargon discussing epidemiology.
Does the matter of words you use change the empirical reality?

No it does not.

Either these viruses are alive, or they are not.

Except in epidemiology where there are 'grey zones', whereby if you use enough words, like magic, hey presto, a new thing now exists.

It simply depends on your definition of 'alive'. Viruses don't fit all the traditional criteria of being 'alive', but most folks would regard them as being alive within a cell when they are reproducing in. For this reason scientists have been looking at changing the definition of life - see A new biological definition of life - PubMed (nih.gov)

So I don't know why you are bagging the epidemiologists specifically when it's a profound and complex issue that science is struggling with. As we learn about astrobiology we probably need a more generic definition of life, one that's not so earthcentric.

How to Lie with Statistics - by Darrell Huff

The only number that would remotely tell you anything is overall mortality for all causes year on year
Every vaccinated country is revealing a significant increase in mortality during 2021 over 2020 and all the years preceding.
Predominantly there are spikes in heart failure, strokes, blood clots.

Draw your own conclusions

Yes and most of the ones dying are unvaccinated.
Luckily they are not all unvaccinated.
