Punk reminds me of a better version of Chris Jericho in the ring. I don't enjoy watching Jericho wrestle. Punk can put on some great matches (five star classics no doubt) but can't say I'm a massive fan of his ring work. There's just something lacking, maybe I just can't suspend my disbelief when watching him wrestle because his moveset is fairly "safe" and pain free. He doesn't look like he actually hurts anyone. Give me a Kurt Angle five star classic over a Punk five star match any day of the week.

I'm still a huge fan of the overall Punk package however.

Yeah you're right. Looking forward to Cena and his comic book heroes, killing the angle at EC.
I think the shield will win in an underhanded way, and have cena. Unable to concentrate on his Wrestlemania opponent (making the odds less in his favour, so he can overcome them to close the show at mania)

Good point. Didn't think of it that way.

But it seems to me, that those three (Cena, Ryback and Irish) are just superhero booked at the moment. But, I hope I am wrong.

Does anyone see Punk become a face again in the near future? Cause I keep looking for things for him to do after EC (cause we all know The Rock will somehow win) and all I can come up with is a feud with Taker, who is apparently 50/50 for WrestleMania or a feud with The Shield or Brock, thus turning him a face/tweener.

Unless they rush a shit feud, which they have done before.

Did I read someone say HHH buried Goldberg? How? By never beating him clean? By always looking like he had the strength and intimidation of a five year old girl when in the ring with him?

Hate to see what jobbing to him looks like.

I wouldn't count the shield out of winning their match at the Elimination Chamber PPV. Cena may still be involved. If they do win you can bet on it that Cena wont be involved in the pin fall, he would have been knocked out elsewhere.

Personally I think it's only right The Shield wins - would be good for the product to see a new stable beat 3 of the biggest stars and cause more havoc the next night on RAW.

Easy...
Punk lays rock out, outside the ring...lights go out...
Cole makes a big song and dance about how the shield are attacking rock again... Meanwhile punk is heard yelling "told you three to stay out of my business"
Lights come on, undertaker is standing over a fallen punk, DQ finish, rock keeps title, matchup set

To be fair.
The only matches he looks sloppy in are those vs people who can't sell a move or a part timer.

(ie. Cena and Rock)

even if i didnt just watch 2 cena vs. punk matches i would feel entirely comfortable calling this total horseshit simply because someone looking sloppy has nothing to do with how well their opponent sells, and when it comes to short term selling, which is the only possible way it could, cena is great.

but having just watched the mitb11 and notc12 matches i can say unequivocally that at least half of your post is nothing more than mindless, blind cena hate with absolutely no attachment to reality.

They would be beyond brilliant, just don't see them being able to pull it off.

Does anyone else have an absolute man crush on how Paul Heyman works a microphone. His awareness of who he is and how his character should react is poetry in motion. Sorry to slightly derail the thread, but I don't think he gets enough love for just how good he is and the Miz section today really cemented it for me.

Word is that the WWE is already planning for this year's SummerSlamevent. The show is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles again and WWEis looking to possible book a Brock Lesnar vs. The Rock match for the show.

The reason being that both have mainstream appeal and that with them in a featured spot, the local Hollywood community could get more involved with the event. An example would be having celebrities appearing at theWWE AXXESS event.

If so I hope they use this theme.

been watching a bit of 92 wcw lately and heyman is brilliant. i think id still take cornette as my favourite manager ever though.

sidenote: im glad wwe are finally giving wargames some love with an upcoming dvd. i read dusty was involved with it so hopefully it focuses a lot on the awesome 88-92 matches and not just the nwo era stuff.

No man crush, but his acting is very good. The bit with Vince and Brock the other week was a great example.

Does anyone know what the stance is from the WWE about their stars communicating with people from TNA? I know they try to do things to make their stars avoid contact (plan events). Basically trying to figure out if they'll allow Lisa Marie (Victoria/Tara) to attend the HOF event in support of Trish because she clearly is in support of Trish, and most of Trish' matches were with her.

Also lol at some of Iron Sheik's tweets earlier.

I'm going to say something here guys.

I'm loving Swagger and Henry's return, both look great since their return.
If you don't agree with me, then you can suck my main vein ;)
Likewise. Henry is a beast as that monster heel, and i just love his entrance music. Always been a big fan of Swagger and this comeback has cemented my belief that he is the most talented in-ring performer on the roster. A powerhouse version on Angle.
