St Kilda 2018 Pride has Pepper Money on the back, a bigger Est. 1873, and thicker white outlines on the numbers:

The same again was used in 2019:

A bit like St Kilda, Sydney only had the Puma logo added late in the year for 1997:

Sydney-1997.gif

There was no logo in Round 18:

And nothing in Round 19:

But there was in Round 20:

In summary:
1997 R1–R19: non-Puma
1997 R20–QF: Puma

You might guess where I'm going here... the same takes place with Brisbane in 1997!

Here they are in Round 6, with no Puma logo:

But by Round 7 the following week against West Coast, it is there:

In summary

1997 R1–R6: non-Puma
1997 R7–QF: Puma

Swans 2011 QBE 125 one-off
The hoop alignment is different; there are three hoops on the back below the number rather than two. The text 'Celebrating 125 Years' is much bigger, and aligned differently.

For young Crows fans, (born 1995-later) this is Matthew Nicks with hair.

I'm always looking out for guernsey designs that seemingly get used for more than one season in the modern era. For collectors, how can you tell two different seasons' guernseys apart?

Take the Swans' 2018–19 Indigenous jumper...

Here is the 2018 variant:

And now here is 2019:

afl-rd-10-sydney-v-collingwood.jpg

The difference? The AFL logo on the 2019 variant has a thick red outline. Blink and you'll miss it, but it's enough to differentiate the two jumpers and be worthy of its own entry on FJ.

The Swans' 2022–23 Indigenous jumper is similarly worthy of investigation:

Firstly, just a note that the Real Estate sponsor on the back here is using the old logo/font, and the opacity on the background is too heavy. But we are actually looking at the differences between the physical product. And I found it difficult at first, given the logo and design positioning was the same, as was the numbers, as was the jock tag.

But let's take a closer look at 2022 below, from two different games that year:

afl-rd-11-sydney-v-richmond.jpg

afl-rd-10-carlton-v-sydney.jpg

afl-rd-10-carlton-v-sydney.jpg

SW1132-673.jpg

And now, let's look at 2023:

afl-rd-11-sydney-v-carlton.jpg

afl-rd-11-sydney-v-carlton.jpg

SW1201-673.jpg

The way I see it, there are 3 small differences between 2022 and 2023:

1. The background pattern has a slightly lower opacity in 2023, allowing for greater visibility
2. The SMFC on the back of the collar is in a thin font, not a thick font
3. The Est. 1874 on the inner collar is in a big font, not a small font (not visible on players)

West Coast pre-season 1997 and 1998

1997 looks good, although the numbers are thinner with a thick white outline:

Screenshot 2025-06-26 21.42.55.png

Screenshot 2025-06-26 21.42.59.png

1998 has the Puma logo in the middle, numbers are the same thickness:

I've been searching for ages for a picture of a 1999 pre-season jumper to compare but I can't, looks good though:

I've tried my best with Carlton, I've cut out all the one offs when other logos have been in use so I'd say this is reliable.
2582pwg5ys9f1.jpeg

The age old problem, what is an official logo.
Footscray players wore the middle logo on club blazers.
But I don't know that it was ever used as an official club logo, like the two on either side of it

Also, is there anywhere where I could find the vectors of the logos used on the website? I know they're 300 x 300 because of copyright (I'd assume) but I'd love to have the hq versions :)

Good luck Rob fixing all of these up.. So many
I am happy to stop if Mero requests me, although I doubt he minds – the genesis of the site was born from a want to fix historical inaccuracies. So too this thread.

I don’t have any expectation on them being completed in any sort of quick turnaround; life is more important. I’m just glad such a service exists.

I am going through them one by one.
All those posts I have Liked, I have made an attempt to fix.
And I am most appreciative of Gibby's editing work.
(And anyone else that finds something wrong, and can show in a pic what the correction should be)

The Geelong guernsey says 2023 - 2025 but still has the golden premiership logo on it

Oh goody, my first historical find! According to Blueseum and what they've named images on this page, there's an outlier to what's in FJ.

They're saying this is 1910, where you've mentioned they stopped wearing this in 1909.
600x386_1910.jpg
This is then 1911:
1911.jpg

Here is where things also get interesting. Carlton 1912, supposedly Round 2 against Fitzroy according to the Blueseum.
1912 Rnd 2 v Fitz enlarged Leader May 11 Capture.JPG
Note the very basic CFC monogram on the majority of players, rather than the 1911 version.

1913 basically everyone except for Mr Barningham reverted back to the fancier design without the Cricket Club mention.
1000x825_1913.jpg
How would you like me to research this one further Mero ?

Further to this one,
1912 semi final v Geelong - simplified CFC monogram on the left.
1912 v Geel semi AA Sept 14 Capture.jpg
Prelim V Essendon, with both monograms:
1912 prelim AASept 28 p69 Capture.jpg

Regarding 1910's removal of the Cricket Club in the monogram, this is Round 4 vs South Melbourne:
1910 Rnd 4 v SM ISDN June 02 Capture.jpg
And Round 7's image below, so we just need to find a better indication when they started to transition properly, otherwise the way you have it on the website is accurate enough 😋

I would speculate that the 1912 version may have been new jumpers issued as they were the first jumpers with numbers on them.
Perhaps they had to get a new set, with numbers, and got a less detailed monogram sewn on.
Then at the end of that season determined the scripted monogram was what they wanted.

I would be interested in more photos than can be found at this site:

And a really good front on image of the 1912 monogram would be helpful

Looks like every version of it is slightly different to the next. I came up with this
