Wasn't this apparently "sponsored by M&Ms"? If so, why no trace of M&Ms logos on the jumper - it was just Port's training jumper. All I remember is Collingwood had a major dummy spit over nothing...
Carlton was sponsored by M&Ms in 1997.
A jumper that is close to their current Clash jumper
This was something completely different.

Hey, Mero.

Based on footyjumpers, I would assume this pic to be from 1991. But the article I ran across it in is about the first meeting between the Eagles and Bears in 1987.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/135567/default.aspx

Your site has a brownish away jumper for Bears in 1987-1990, while 1991 is pinkish. But this pic looks almost maroon to me, and even the sleeve that's bathed in sunlight looks much more red than it does pink and the jumper isn't even close to brown anywhere.

Just wondered if you'd ever seen this pic before.

My mate sent me this on Facebook this afternoon.
It is from 1991, and the Bears never wore it against the Eagles.
But it is a beauty and it's actually cerise.

That's got me wondering, do you have a big collection or do you just borrow whatever information you can get?
I have three, that is all.
Essendon 1986, NSW State of Origin 1993, Essendon Clash 2007.
All game worn.
Of the rest, I've collected photos and links to pages with photos.

Quick question

Why in the early mid 80's did geelong have 2 ford badges on their jumpers? Always wondered
Geelong had one Blue Ford logo in a White hoop and a White Ford logo on a Blue hoop.
Together they made the size of one regular sized logo.
This was from 1977 to 1981
Why? It was the 70s, people did all sorts of weird stuff.

Made me look it up.
It was actually 1992.
NSW played Queensland.
No ACT, just NSW apparently.
New South Wales 22.9 (141) Queensland 6.12 (48)

The next year (1993) they became NSW /ACT to play Victoria and got smashed.

In 1990 NSW played Vic at the SCG and won in the wet and was the first time all four Danihers played in the one team.

Very nice jumper.

As for 90, yes the Vics were beaten b NSW and Tasmania. big news back then, especially after the Vic's win against SA in '89 at the MCG, this is the ultimate state game.

Here is a pic from the 1990 Grand Final record of the squad that took on and beat Victoria
