A game that I totally erased from my memory until that post, SA, was a 2002 'away' derby I attended as a little fella. Five things I recall:
- One of the only (if not, the only) night derbies... the lights going off at Subi for a pre-match ANZAC day service to focus on a cauldron of some sort. Secretly shat myself, it was instant darkness.
- Michael Gardiner getting one of those free kicks at the goalsquare after the goal has been registered, I was a kid and hated the Dockers so thought it was the best thing ever.
- Michael Braun copping it big-time from the Dockers fans around me for his new Just Spectacles gig (free frames!)
- We won convincingly... since then my personal away derby average is -70 points
- Finally, the Eagles wearing the home tripanel mk1 with the white shorts. By then, as I've outlined in a previous post, the WCE/AFL had come to realise the Ochre clashed with more jumpers than not, including itself. Purple-Red and Navy-Ochre looked trrrble anyway, Dale Kickett and Phil Read agree with me.

So yep, the only exception to the rule of away/clash jumpers where applicable.

Quite appreciate the Showdowns though, old school home with white shorts where the VFL Nazis would otherwise deem a clash.

I was at Rebel Sport today, and noticed that there wasn't a gap between the sleeve and the stripes in the Hawks home jersey, although in the footy on TV shows a gap between the two. Please explain.

Player issue vs replica, different sizing. That's it really.

Mero, I've found some slight errors in the old Geelong away guernsey.

1999

This one looks pretty close (three hoops), but the hoops are slightly narrower and the bottom of the shield enters half way into the second hoop and requires some white at the base of the guernsey:

2000-2002

In 2000 a fourth hoop was added, and they became narrower. You can see the bottom of the shield is aligned with the bottom of the second hoop (compared with the top in your design):

In 2001-2002 we were back to three hoops and basically the same as your 2000-2002 design:

This is a classic photo from 2002, Mooney is wearing the 2000 guernsey but the others are wearing 2001-2002:

2003-2005

This looks right for 2003-2004 but I don't think we wore it in 2005 (although I can see it used in the preseason competition):

2003-2005

This was worn against Collingwood and North Melbourne in 2003 (not 2004-2005). But your hoops are incorrect (basically you need to swap the colours).

Geelong jumpers should be done now SJ, how do they look?
Also changed the backs, as I noticed the Ford logo on the back went over the higher hoop on a white background.

Also Mero on your Geelong away jumpers page you still have the 2010 guernsey (never worn) and 2011 guernsey (never worn in 2011, worn in 2012) listed.

These are also correctly listed on the preseason page where a note is made regarding no use in the premiership season.

Saw something odd at the Crows-Freo game: One of these with a sublimated heritage round logo:

Never mind the fact it was a Port jumper at a Crows game, anyone have a possible explanation at all?
yeah i remember this, it was for one of the last heritage rounds. Port wanted to wear their prison bar jumper and had planned on all week until collingwood teared up the last minute with the whole we are the only magpies it's our brand, the black and white is iconic to us BS (strange considering PA had worn the prison bars in the past with no complaints or confusion). As a result PA were forced to wear the lighting bolt jumper which i think was their away jumper from the year before so technically a heritage jumper.
