IMO that's made it worse because what I consider traditional designs that could be drawn by a kid were replaced by gradient filled nonsense.
Consider the ugliest jumpers of all time.

Regretting doing SANFL yet? 😄

Hello,
I bring you a revelation.

Geelong had black numbers in the 1989 Grand Final (pictured) and also in the 1992 Grand Final, as I can see from Fox Footy right now but no still images I can find 🙁
...Which makes me wonder how long prior they had black numbers for and we never noticed?

EDIT: 1994 GF they definitely accentuated the blue numbers

Reebok used quite a dark shade of navy for the Crows home in 2012 compared to other years (probably the darkest its ever been for a Crows jumper), so I'd suggest making the navy a lot darker on the illustrations for the 2012 Crows home. It was quite a big change from 2011, and it got lighter again in 2013 (but not as light as 2011).

If you judge by Hawkins' logo placement, it should also be in the armpit!

Sponsorship placement on the cats guernseys depend on the jumper size. The bigger the jumper, the more spaced out the logos are. For example, the smaller mids like Ablett and Selwood have normal placed logos but for Hawkins, Stanleys ect, their logos are almost under the armpits

No quite sure what to do with this.
Every pic I see is impacted by the prevailing light conditions.
The jumpers look darker in Night games, lighter in Day games.

I think some other Crows jumper brainiacs could back me up on this, was definitely darker in 2012.
Heres better pictures, of actual guernseys themselves on the same bed:

You can clearly see its a deeper navy for 2012, deeper than it usually is for the Crows. For some reason Reebok had the colour too light in 2010/2011 but then made it too dark in 2012 (they just couldn't get it right), but then Puma got the colour back to normal for 2013 like it was before Reebok.

When the Crows came into the competition in 1991 they played on television at night, I thought their colours black yellow and red. And it wasn’t just me.

Speaking of the Scrap page, there's a few recent Geelong jumpers to add Mero:

Looks as though Geelong was wearing black numbers from maybe the 1970s to the early 1990s.

And perhaps earlier in the 1900s too.

Last year Bob Gartland displayed his GFC collection to commemorate the club's 160th anniversary. A number of guernseys were on display:

From this photo, my own photos and this video tour I can see quite a few with black numbers:
- #14 David Clarke 1970s lace up
- #32 Garry Hocking appears late 1990s/early 2000s (possibly last game)
- #13 very old early 1900s guernsey
- #40 appears Ian Nankervis' guernsey (1970s?)
- #9 woolen long sleeve guernsey (1980s?)

From what I can gather from these pics and others I've researched the most likely introduction of Black numbers would be with the foam backed numbers that were sewn onto acrylic jumpers.
Therefore I've amended the images to include Black numbers on jumpers that didn't use the Cloth number panel which was sewn onto the back of the jumper.

(images may be cached if you've been on the page recently, so open the image in a new tab and press F5 to refresh the image.)

I think you’re right. But it also appears Geelong was wearing these in the late 1990s/early 2000s after wearing navy numbers from 1994-.
