Saw this last night. I enjoyed it, but they tried to cram way too much into it - so much so, that most characters don't get the exploration they deserve. Everyone seems to get at least one awesome moment though - Quicksilver is the highlight of the film for me, especially the slow mo sequence, although
it seemed pretty contrived that he didn't reveal to Magneto that he's his son. Felt like it was unnecessarily being dragged out.

Just saw it. It's okay without being great.

Same. I feel like it suffers the same problems as Man of Steel and many other superhero movies. The fight scenes become a mess when you're dealing with characters with so much power. Very few Directors know how to direct it without becoming a bunch characters on the screen all with constipated expressions, all seeing who can squeeze their dump out first.

I think CA:CW handled it well.

The first 2/3 of the movie was good. I've seen the same ending done a million times.

Fassbender is all class, brilliant actor.

For someone who wasn't in the cartoons that often, Mystique features heavily.

I always wonder why Jubilee has never made an appearance.

She did...

opening scene was dramatic, especially the attempted assasination and the manner in which it happened. the use of angles, itself used for the construction of the pyramid, was intelligent but not successful.

Major characters

psylocke. i love olivia munn. something about her, probably the asian in her mixed with others. she has the oriental look suggesting submission and care for men, but she’s also fiery which is brought out in psylocke. wished her costume revealed more of her physical physique which is quite good. acting wise, so so wooden and stiff. the scene where the axis of evil is outside on the hill top she is posing whereas others are relaxed.

mystique. she mustve taken lessons on pump up speeches from Danaeyrs Stormborn mother of dragons and breaker of chains. that or she had a word to sansa who got her the script. sigh. in the second act we see her take out henchmen with an uppercut elbow ffs. seriously? just cant take her seriously.

angel. the rock and roller of the gang. the heavy metal music playing when he meets apocolypse was british to the fore. wanted more from him in the fight scenes, but dont know what.

nightcrawler. ironic that a german beat the brit. the actor playing him did a good job.

poe dameron. hmmm. kept looking at the tubes stemming from his head. is he an astronaut or something? hate the costume, im true to the comics. but yeah, a small criticism. overall issac did a good job. disappointed he was easily destroyed, but understandable given…

jean grey. PHOENIX!!! yeah!!!!!!!! love sansa, just wish she’d unleash PHX onto the boltons. pre game i thought she would be the weak link, but i reckon she stole the show. just as she become more powerful, so did turners cred.

magneto - much the same from fassbender. felt his pain throughout. symbolism of the two pieces of metal forming the X in the final battle cannot be underestimated

prof X - see magneto

Moira is beautiful as always.

cyclops. always liked him in the comics, tv and arcade game (marvel vs streetfighter). the marsden cyclops is thanfully dead and buried!!

favourite scene - final one where we see the new x men in something more resembling their comic book costumes (without the pascal colours). a subtle fist pump from me in the cinema. and of course quicksilver saving the kids.

use of scenes from previous 2 installments was good.

criticisms - lack of jubilee. i noted that china/asia was not featured in this.

themes
family - predictably used, yet it was clever. the will he wont he tell magneto hey im your son (quicksilver) i think had people on edge of seats.

One other gripe I had was with the use of J-Law. Once again she is portrayed as the reluctant leader of the resistance. How'd you come up with that idea, Singer?

Type-cast much?

Better than Days Of Future Past. Surprising very violent film. Sophie Turner and Tye Sheridan were the highlights.

They seriously need to get rid of Mystique adds nothing to the story.

Current feminist uproar is over the promotional images of Apocalypse chocking Mystique, as it encourages domestic violence.

Brb, going to go choke my wife cause a picture told me it was AOK.

Didn't like it

Only bit I like was finally
seeing a proper weapon X...only took 20 films to get the character right ..
....and I love Sophie

Otherwise a big ****ing MEH

anyone find offense with this?

No I mean like she had about 3 lines for the entire film. I contend the performance was fine because she was given absolutely nothing to do.
