And from what Thomas did on Thursday I am glad they let him finish....he was garbage but not as bad as Cloke, he is an absolute Joke is Cloke...

Thomas was more ready made and what Collingwood were after. Not only did we know when we drafted Ellis that he wouldn't be available last year but with his frame would take time. After seeing the way he uses the ball and reads the play etc I'm pretty confident with Ellis already.
Having said that Thomas has shown a lot and it can not be argued really that Thomas is a fair way in front of Ellis because he is. Its all specualtive what Ellis will become, could be a star, average player or as Zeke said a Fiora, but I really like what I see so far, just what we need with all our other inside mids.

I watched it, it the vein hope that you would beat the Cokers but alas as per usual it was all in vein.....Thomas did some silly things, but Cloke played disgraceful, when you needed him to stand up he was flat out on his anal...

Zeke you cannot compare Ellis to Thomas, when Ellis has a full year of AFL footy behind him compare the two.The answer 'no' would have sufficed.

You're a fool. Ellis is a project player, Thomas is obviously not. You will not get much more improvement out of Thomas.

Chances are he will, as there'll be a few inclusions into the side - like Bateman. Though if AC and co have made a conscious decision to blood him this year then he'll retain his spot at the expense of McGlynn or Clarke.

Ellis will go back to Box Hill this week in order to play a full game. I wouldn't be surprised if Clarkson rotates Ellis and Muston every 2 weeks to get them used to the big time, whilst giving them confidence down at Box Hill. The same goes for Roughead, Dowler, Thorp, Renouf, Little and the other draftees from 2006. We aren't in a hurry to rush them in the side as we were with Lewis, Roughead and Franklin.

Yeah. I remember Mark McGough winning the ANZAC Medal in his first season too. Bloody champion that kid. Not sure what happened to him, but boy! Those ANZAC Day blockbusters are something else.
Not sure why you'd compare Ellis to Thomas, unless you want to share with everyone you're own insecurity over Collingwood's drafting. Thomas plays for the Pies and will be a good terrier across half forward. Ellis plays for Hawthorn and will be a cool playmaker across half back.
Who cares what these guys produce in their first 3 seasons? Most people will judge them on what they're able to achieve in the 10 years after that. Do you remember Philip Walsh? Rookie Of The Year he was. How about Heath Shepherd? Or Jason Cloke?
