Casey is a fair player, but hasn't shown he can step up to 2nds let alone 1sts. He played ok in the 10A v Scotch game last year, but doesn't go in hard enough for his size. Considering only half a dozen or so 10As make the step up to 1sts each year he's coming from a long way out. I think Yr 12 will be his year.

Davo, you are a genius :thumbsu:

I reckon a darkhorse is the Year 10 Matt Douglas, he can play a good game that's for sure. Sibasado is an interesting one isn't he? Has a lot of talent as has been shown but he just hasn't put it all together as of yet, maybe he can step up this year and show a lot in the seconds to perhaps feature in a few firsts games.

Strong side but as you said height is a bit of a problem, perhaps Coluccio could be one to make his home down back. Plenty of good players who missed out too, the seconds side is to be pretty impressive as well

Squad

I actually think XC have the deepest squad. You're coach got something right last year when you played a lot of different blokes when Kennedy and Tarrant were injured.

Still, Scotch have a heap of stars and I don't think you will be able to match them all. Most likely your Yr 11s will dominate next year.

I am interested to see how Thomas, Armstrong and Hanger go.
They dominated your seconds last year and may be good 1sts players.

Davo mate!

Darcy Booth here. Very impressed with your knowledge of our side. Might have to take you out or something haha! Your quite the weapon for your football side with your expertese. Even a good knowledge of the new players which is quite interesting. I agree that your boys will be tough to beat this year with your Riolis and Davis and co. Looking forward to our tussle in round three very much.

Keep Up The Good Work Champ!

I have to admit, I have the inside running.
Go to Uni with a few of your old players and family friends with one of your teachers. Fortunately for you guys our blokes have blinkers on and don't think you are a realistic threat.
I heard you guys started training back in January and that you have spent a heap of cash on specialist coaches. Interesting way in dealing with scholarships - but then Xavs have always had good players and always will. With a better structure you might just go to another level.
What's Kennedy like as a coach? Is it the older one that coached Hawthorn or the younger one that played in the 80s?

If Maric and Cotchin played - ok.

Only thing is Scotch and Xavier have good players all the way through. No weak points and would pull away after half time.

I think ECK play XC in a couple of weeks in a pracky, not sure.

John Kennedy Jnr. 200 game player and mutiple premiership member from the 80s. Good bloke who knows his stuff.

That's a huge get. Times have changed with some high profile people coming into the schools now.

Damn, 11pm. I need to get this essay done!

Who this James McGrath kid, James Ulbrick says he is really arrogant about coming from Charlton......... not sure why, anyway I also herd he has a strong frame not to be messed with, that he kick goals consistantly just needs to play in front a bit mor. Do people see him playing a key postion in the first this year?

Players I would have thought would be a shoe in this year for you guys would be Browne and Evans. Weren't they superstars in Yr 9/10. I heard they were too fat and on the turps too much.

Are they likely to even make the squad?

haha yeah mate long term as in 6 or 7 years before he would play a key position at AFL level.

who are u the brickster why make up such rubbish, i take bigfooty seriously and so do many other just becuase u can play football doesn't mean you can make fun of us here.

There's a few Yr 12s from the 2nds last year that have been talked about in APS circles a bit. How are these guys progressing?

Tom Rowse - Tall, quick and I think his brothers were awesome cross country runners in my year.

Josh Hanger - Played at Ashburton with my cousin and won the B&F. Kicked a lot of goals in 10As and 2nds apparently from a forward pocket.

Pat Ellis - Xavier Ellis' cousin played a couple of 1st games last year. Isn't he a tall defender type, which you guys don't seem to have many of?

Sean Curran - Was touted as a talented Yr 10 a few years ago but I think he hasn't broken into the team yet.

If he can then then you're back six probably looks a little bigger with Noonan, Kennedy and Coluccio. There's no doubting your Yr 11 talent. Whether you can be a force or not depends on you Yr 12s. A lot of them played 2nds last year and they would need to improve their skills dramatically or be super fit.

daniel collucio has injured himself (sumthing to do with collarbone, arm or something in that region. sorry for lack of info). so hopefully that won't weaken xavier's back 6, but may do so severely.

does anyone know if i think its nick wynne, i dont know if i spelt it correctly, but does anyone know if he is at the dragons this season or did he get cut? because when i saw melbourne grammar play xavier, he was definantley a stand out to me...but does he have a chance to get drafted if he doesnt make the sandy under 18 team this year?

Yes he did.
Was there any doubt.
I think him, Ben Kennedy and Daniel Noonan are the 3 XC boys there.

Can someone confirm if what I heard tonight was true.
Did your school have a chat to Robert Tarrant about playing a couple of games this year for Xavs?
Apparently he re-enrolled for VCE this year which makes him eligible after a pretty average ENTER score last year.
If he plays, that changes things a fair bit.

After all, Scotch's captain a few years ago played in the 1sts after he had finished Yr 12.

highly doubt that, considering u cant repeat vce, u can do year 12 again, but he actually did the exams, u cant re do that, and i honestly cant see xavier doing something like that, too much pride

Sorry there champ but that little rule was changed at the beginning of 2005. Your administrators probably don't tell you that you can repeat subjects because their main objective is to get a sparkling set of results.
You do not get penalised any more, because you don't in other states and it wasn't consistent. Wish I had that for my Yr 11 3/4 subject. I would have done it again... 35! Useless.

And I think you missed my point.
He doesn't actually have to take classes.
My understanding is that if he is enrolled for VCE at your school that he is eligible still to play APS at any time. The word out of Bedigo is that he has spoken to your people as recently as last week.

Not that I expect Xavier to give an honest response to this query.
It's amazing what you learn at the skinny dog on a weekend!
I'll see what I can find out there tomorrow night.

so ur telling me i can do year 12 this year, and just say i get 50.7, ur saying i can re-enroll next year and try and beat that?
we will NOT be playing robbie tarrent
