Finished Ryse yesterday. Fantastic game only flawed by it's repetitive combat. I was worried about the QTE finishers before i started playing but I thought they were implemented well with the gaining focus/xp/health from them. Story had me hooked to ignore it's flaws and enjoy it enough that I'll probably give it another playthrough later on (plan was to play it once and trade like i do every game)
Ending was brutal, from walking down that long hallway just slaughtering all the guards and then
the grand finale of spear tackling the emperor off the ledge and impaling him through the statues sword
just brilliant.
Up there with ZombiiU as one of the more underrated games of this gen so far. This is why you don't follow reviewers opinions.
Most of the hate came from people that haven't played it complaining about repetitive play and qte's, i personaly dont care about qte's because one of my fav devs (Quantic Dreams) games are full of them. Also the launch of the xb1 wasn't the greastest and it coincided with it's release so some hate came from that as well.
cost $30 odd, very simple to plug in to your antenna cable into the back of the xbox, then do a scan and off you go.
I'm now using the xbox1 mainly as a media player. This TV tuner makes it extremely easy to go from my foxtel Play app, to free to air TV to playing any games without having to change input on my Tv remote. Its all on the xbox interface
has a excellent guide and it scrolls through channels really quickly whilst leaving the picture on
Peeps saying Ryse is pretty good. Have picked it up off the shelf a few times but was scared off by poor reviews. Im into the witcher/fallout style games - worthy the $30 for Ryse?

If you can get it for $20 - which is what it was last time I checked at JB - then I say go for it. Only took me 7 hours to complete it but it was a fun ride throughout and a solid story.
