Have they mentioned 3rd party headsets for the Xbone/PS4? I love my Astro A40's, don't want to have to buy a new one..
No headsets that worked for the 360 will work for the XBOX ONE.

Turtle Beach have announced XBOX ONE compatible headsets that will be available around launch.

Polk audio have announced some too.

As for PS4, I believe that's so far unconfirmed as to whether PS3/360 compatible headsets will carry over.

Turtle Beach believe theirs will work: http://www.techradar.com/au/news/ga...rrent-headsets-will-work-with-the-ps4-1159211

These are the 3rd party headsets listed on the Xbox site.

Turtle Beach Ear Force XO SEVEN

Turtle Beach Ear Force XO FOUR

Polk 4 Shot Xbox One gaming headphones

From what I've read some company (turtle beach?) is planning to release an adaptor so current gen headsets work on the X1

I'll be getting a PS4 but that really blows for Xbone users.

Guess we play the waiting game..

edit: cheers E92

I still want to know if you're in a lobby and someone has the mic's coming through the TV, if you shouted "XBox off!" through the headset if it would turn off...

Having dedicated servers that can just create themselves as needed is a pretty big upgrade from the current model it must be said. It means that now at least that XBL Gold fee is going towards something tangible as opposed to the current model, which is a complete con.

The next step would be to somehow make those servers customisable in the hands of "admins" or something analogous to current dedicated server admins that would let you customize the server to your own rules, set passwords, kick/ban players and things of that nature. Maybe they can charge an extra fee for a permanent server with adjustable settings for clans and help bring proper clan play to consoles. Renting out VOIP servers would also be beneficial for everyone and help promote clan gaming.

Also, I don't know what Sony's plan is for dedicated servers, but they would want to be doing something comparable (perhaps through Amazon's servers or other cloud operators?), because peer-2-peer gaming flat out sucks; gamers have been playing online with dedicated servers in droves since Quake 1 in 1996. Direct connections should never have been a thing in games with more than 4 players or so. Especially not in the consoles of 2005/2006.

A light bulge in the back of the controller?
It doesn't bulge nor does it even shine all that brightly according to those who've used it (for those that think it does - have seen some thinking it'd light up a room).

I mean just build the thing in like a remote has an infrared, cut a bit at the top and just put in the infrared receiver, wouldn't look as bad as what's there now does.

In the ds4? that was only in one of the demo models, the last design I saw didnt have the bulge
Has the back of the controller changed since this pic was taken (the touchpad looks a bit different)?

I assume we're talking about the blue light/surrounding plastic?

TBH I thought it would be a dull light but from these pics it looks a bit brighter... in the dark anyway:

It doesn't look that bad tbh, the infrared LEDs would be in the small section above the guide button and between the bumpers so it's basically the same as a remote anyway. The bumpers/triggers have always been glossy so they would have made the whole section match with the larger redesigned bumpers/triggers.
