XBX Xbox Series X/S - Articles, accessories and everything else

I have personally gone back and forth on this. For the PS4/XBone generation I was hardcore "I want a physical edition". I felt like if I am going to spend 50 bucks on a game, I want to be able to show it off proudly on the shelf and feel something in my hands. I would go out of my way to buy a physical version even if it ended up costing me more.

Now though? Well, I got the Series X and discovered a) game pass and b) quick resume. It is so lightning to switch between games, that honestly it completely changes whole you play. It may seem small, but with a disk you're going to think about okay... I want to play this now, and set it up. Then if you want to switch from that shooter to FIFA you need to go through that process...

Now, with quick resume and having everything digital, bang it's done. Also after you get so many discs they just kinda get in the way.... particularly given the huge size of the latest gen consoles.

Now PS5 doesn't have quick resume, although of course the load times will be much better than the PS4. I personally see myself using XBox with game pass for most games, and then the PS5 for exclusives and maybe the odd multiplayer game that my mates have on that system.

Digital will always cost more for convenience. And on top of what dwainno said, EB charges RRP unless you price match anyway. It's the larger retailers like Amazon, JB etc who don't specialise in gaming that are eating into their margins.

I have an EB close by, so it's not a major effort for me to trade in, but can see the logic of paying more for convenience. Especially for a AAA title you know that has a hell of a lot of replay value.

Everyone should install and play Prey...let's get it a sequel!

It's unrelated to the game circa... 2005ish? I played and finished that. It was decent. The story captivated me and the mechanics were pretty fun.

Pretty funny watching PlayStation fanboys melting about the Bethesda situation this morning after they've got loads of big exclusives over the years lel

Never played Morrowind, keen to give that a whirl.

Unreal the value of gamepass.

Modders have been working on Morrowind for years to bring it up to date, would be nice to officially be done.

Some of those titles were already on GP but still great news

Think I've held off long enough on the new XBOX, time to start planting the seed with the missus.

Back in the PS2 days you could sell it as a DVD player. PS3... blu ray player. Now you have a 4k blu ray player, sure, but how necessary is that?

Just buy it mate. Shes gonna argue with your over it for 10 minutes then just make her a drink and she'll be over it. We can play Sea of Thieves and Forza together.

Great. Now she is pregnant.

Had a squiz at Telstra's internet plans so I can get that xbox deal but it's a fair bit more a month that I currently pay.

Because its the best.

So many games on gamepass right now! Always hard to keep playing a game when new content keeps dropping! Finally downloaded Destiny to give it a shot but feel like I want to try out Fallout now

Oh I see that that's Xbox All Access. Note that that will be effectively taking out a line of credit (at least if it's like it is in the States).

Yep, to my knowledge, completely unrelated.

One of those games that doesn't necessarily do gameplay mechanics brilliantly, but the world building is phenomenal.

Set in a hub type level system on a space station, going through and uncovering heaps of hidden goodies to fill the story out and whatnot.

Absolutely blew away my expectations when I played it and was enthralled the entire time.

One of the most underrated games of the last decade imo.

I have many games vying for my post Red Dead 2 play. I am trying to be a good boy these days and only have one big story game going at a time.

It will be a tough competition with Miles Morales though. Absolutely loved Spiderman 1 and just finished it a few weeks ago and the DLC is almost done too.

Oh, and Ghost of Tsushima....

But can definitely add Prey to the short list!
