The 2018 AFL Premiership Season is once again just around the corner which means the YABBY Medal is back.

Once again the regulars will know how it works but for anyone new to this, we all get together and vote after each game, handing out 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 votes. You can vote as soon as the game's finished or later into the week, hopefully we get a lot of votes in each week. I will then collate all the votes from everyone and determine the overall 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 that we've come up with collectively.

Last year Tom Mitchell carried on from his other namesake, the great Sam Mitchell and won the Yabby in his first year with us and let's be honest he won in a canter with 80 votes to his name. Well ahead of 2nd placed Ben McEvoy who ended up with 38 votes. Just behind him was 2nd year Superstar Ryan Burton (37 votes), Sicily (23) and Burgoyne (20) rounded out the top 5 for the year.

Please ensure your votes are complete and clearly numbered or they cannot be counted. Likewise, keep all voting to this thread.

Bring on 2018!

Quite a few unlucky. Votes could easily go to Smith, Henderson, Stratton, Burgoyne, Howe.

Good signs when I have to leave a quality game like Burgoyne out. Many times last year was scratching to fill a few spots. Let's hope not too much of that this season.

Gee, it was hard giving votes this time last year. .
