The Winner of the 2020 Yabby...




Tom Mitchell!

What a tight finish it was. Amazing effort by Mitchell to take out the Yabby in his 1st season back from the horrific leg break. Our midfield was well beaten this year but he never stopped trying and improved as the year went on. Congrats on your 3rd Yabby Medal Mitch!


2ND PLACE....




Jack Gunston!

Mr Reliable Jack Gunston had a superb year for us, especially considering we struggled with quality forward entries all year. He won many 1 on 1s and showed what a leader he has become. Stiff to miss AA but got a well deserved PCM. Great work Gunna!


3RD PLACE....




James Sicily!

The saddest story of 2020. He was a shoe-in for the Yabby (lost by 2 votes despite going down in Round 12) and probably the PCM too. He also should be by now a 2 or 3 time AA but injury has curtailed that each time. Brilliant player who we will miss dearly in 2021. Heal up well Sic & can't wait to have you back!


4TH PLACE...




Will Day!

From the saddest story to the best story of 2020. Will Day was a revelation for the Hawks and has shown what a gun he will be for us for many years to come. He can only improve from here as he fills out and gets stronger. Already seems to have an elite mind with great decision-making. If he played the full year he may have won the Yabby in his 1st season considering he only was 5 votes of Mitchell. Amazing stuff Will!


5TH PLACE...




James Worpel!

The only player from last year's top 5 to place again in the Yabby, Worps was slow out of the blocks this year but had a really solid 2nd half of the season prior to his injury. Expecting a big year next year by the young gun.

What a close finish it was. Very low votes in the Yabby totals this year due to 5 less games but either way it was a very tight contest. Only 2 votes separating the top 3!
