Footy's almost back! I have not felt this much excitement going into a Season in a long time. What a ride the boys took us on last year. The improvement throughout the year was so good to see after we all saw little glimpses over the years prior. The amount of excitement and "fun" they played with was just a joy to watch. Can't wait to see what's in store for us next.
Once again the regulars will know how it works but for anyone new to this, we all get together and vote after each game, handing out 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 votes. You can vote as soon as the game's finished or a few days later. I try and finalise the votes for the week by the Wednesday or Thursday. I will then collate all the votes from everyone and determine the overall 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 that we've come up with collectively.
Last year we saw a new face take out the Yabby in Jai Newcombe after finishing 2nd two years in a row. Moore continued his rise as an absolute star Small Forward/Midfielder to take out 2nd spot. Big Lloyd Meek became one of the better Ruckman in the comp, finishing 3rd. Worpel backed up his excellent 2023 with another great season, finishing 4th. We finally saw Scrimmers have the season we always thought he could as he took his game to a new level and taking out 5th position.
