Blockwami, am I right?
Ryukyu style makes short work of the blockers! When some enemies were just blocking I thought maybe it was a meme in reference to blockuza but it turns out I was meant to be using the Ryukyu style.

Was going to but decided on K3 first at the last second.I hope anyone that planned to play Dark Ties before Kiwami 3 didn’t. The new game screen actually wants players that the end of DT spoils the end of Kiwami 3. Kiwami 3 is meant to be played first.

There is so much to do in Kiwami 3, which is always true of every Yakuza game.
Not only the main story, but also the Morning Glory and Bad Boy Dragon (grindy as ****) side stories. I’ve just completed all three.
Onto survival hell with Mine. That looks grindy as well.
. It started off as later this year but one of the guys isn't as flexible with work so it's looking more likely like March next year

I'm in Chapter 6 too. I've done all the side quests I can, have about 90/100 full level Lovelies, have all the Baddies bar the Colisseum one (which isn't available yet). Haven't done the Kamurocho side of Bad Boy Dragon yet, waiting for that last Baddie first.I'm a sucker for sub stories but don't mind less of them to have more of this sort of side content which just changes up the gameplay. I tend to max it out as I go rather than coming back to it and along with just wasting time playing side games (mahjong, reversi, koi koi etc) it's why I'm still only on chapter 6. I'm really into this game. Stuff the noise, I'm having a blast and am even sold on the re-casts.
My progress has also stalled the last few nights as I've been organising our trip with the boys... I may have had a bit of sway on the areas we're looking at booking in Osaka and Tokyo. I'm enjoying it, a lot more than Y3! Didn't do many of the sub stories in that, as it already felt like a slog, so don't know what's missing in this. Agree with the re-casts being good. Hamazaki is far better, just a shame the bloke is a shit campaigner in real life. Rikiya is growing on me, Nakahara is ok (didn't hear much about his recast going in so was a surprise to see that he changed).
Yeh, played through the entire series after LAD came out, within a year. Got a bit burnt out playing through Y3. The mechanics and gameplay of it and Y4 are heavily dated so it not overly unreasonable to rate it less than others. It's one reason I've been looking forward to this, so I can compare it on the same merit as other games. All of you guys that dislike Y3, are you relatively new to the series?
I just have never understood the disdain for it as someone who played it on release. Seems like it's often a case of newcomers to the series being used to certain QOL aspects in recent entries.

Ooof, ok, looks like I need to stock up on upgrade pins! Where did you get all yours? The Bad Boy dragon grind is real, just don’t **** up like me and think you can level up your characters if you keep replaying battles but with all level 50 characters lol. Somehow I was under the impression that everyone levels up at the same time (outside of rally/meetings). But you have to go into each battle with lower level characters to level them up, until they are at the maximum and then swap them out for other lower level characters.
In the end I had the boss crew and all three sqauadrons all at level 50 and I have another 52 baddies all between level 36 to 49. My baddie spirit was at 24,070 against a squad at 16,000 for the very last fight of the entire story. I got there in the end, but still lost a squadron lol.

Y5 holds up ok enough that I don't think it needs a remake, Y4 could really do with the Kiwami treatment though, so dissappointing that it won't get it.

Yeh, ok, I've been doing that, but they haven't reset too often. Guess I just need to play it more. You’ve been in the base right? Do you see the blue orbs above everyone’s head? Go up to every person (they are in groups, all over the base) and press square (on PS5) and the blue orb will fly into Kiryu and those will accumulate points. Keep replaying total annihilation and the blue orbs will reset. Then you go around the base again grabbing the blue orbs again, and repeat the process of replaying a battle.
Now to get the pins, next to your main crew under the “High! Sight!” Banner, talk to the person with the face mask and select “Exchange Haisai Points” (the blue orbs you accumulate). Your options are the rally/meeting tickets (they level up everyone in your squad by 4000 points) and the baddie uniform buttons which will get your baddies from level 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, depending on what you select.
When you talk to the woman in the face mask, you will see the “hold a meeting and “arrange a rally” options if you have those pins.
FYI, you can’t replay multiple battles before grabbing the blue orbs and think you will get more blue orbs at the same time, it doesn’t work like that.
