I may have been guilty of the occasional bagging of JR, but I'm definitely not alone.

However, in this case I AM NOT BAGGING YARRAN. Yarran will be a good player but in my opinion he was not worthy of pick 6.

I am angry with our recruiting team who in my opinion have got it wrong.

If we were going to take a chance bet or a project player with Pick 6 then i believe this should have been done with the next best Key defender in the draft.

If however we wanted to use pick 6 on a guaranteed 10 year player, then
Rich was our man.

If u could go back in time - would u want us to still pick Yarran over rich.

Finally, lets not compare Yarran to Rioli. Rioli is a freak and yarran will never be in his league.

They are strong words, and I would expect you to have at least seen a number of WAFL games to be ale to substantiate it.

Last time I checked Rioli wasn't int he same draft pool. Yarran wasn't recruited because we thought he was another Rioli.

If Yarran and Rich were available at the lions pick, who do u think they would have selected?

Judd makes our midfield look alot better than it really is. Do u really think Yarran will ever become an elite midfielder or a dominant forward?

I just didn't think our list was strong enough to take a huge risk with pick 6 when a ready made player was available.
 
Re-reading your post I was probably a bit tough. I have seen Yarran playing bursts through the midfield and off HB and that excited me more than his efforts as a forward (39 goals in 13 senior WAFL) games, so that is saying something. He has done this as a 17-18yo in the WAFL. If you consider players reach their peak around 80-100 games, that is at 23-24 years of age, and fitness levels can be enhanced, I'm bloody excited.

On raw talent you wouldn't pick Ziebell or Rich over him.

We are a very different club to 5 years ago. I'd back the support staff/coaches we have in place to get the best out of him

ODN is also trying to stamp out playing the man instead of the ball. I think calling someone ignorant shitfish, troll and their point of view shite can only make the chain of posts worse. Stick to what you know about the topic.

Same as you look at these posters as absolute nubs in their misinformed opinions so too is there a REAL RECRUITER looking at your opinions and going..total nub!

Drafting is an inexact science. The recruiters thought Yarran was worth the punt, based on destroying WAFL backlines at the tender age of 17. In hindsight, personally I would have taken injury prone Vickery and forgotten about injury prone Warnock. ;) Ruck and key forward problems solved...

But for what it's worth we have Yarran and Warnock now, so there! Have faith; Yarran may yet turn into the 70 goal a year Phil Matera/Jeff Farmer we've been crying out for. Midfielders are a dime a dozen.
 
Lazy half-arsed effort you imbecile. IF you were any good you would have overdubbed the audio in spanish, then used a subtitle editor in a Downfall-esque manner. ;)

who knows how yarran will turn out? he certainly has the potential, but looks like he needs some more confidence. if only we could mix his kicking ability and size with jeff garlett's speed and defensive pressure, we'd have a star.

There aint no Fab 4. Just a Fab 1. in Juddy. Our midfield did need another star. Rich was the one.

rich is a bit weird looking if u ask me..... probably suits being in movies like 'charlie and the chocolate factory'

plus the excitement factor doesnt go up when he gets it...
no more steak and egg players....

we definitely need some zing... and yarran will provide that for many many years/...
