Nothing robotic about one of the best kicks in the games. Can play midfield, back and he'll likely spend a lot of time up forward so he's much more than just a HBF.

Has plenty of charisma.

i came here to discuss yarran, as i have always been a big follower as he was a swan districts boy. happy to see him play like i knew he could in the season opener. and as i am generally discussing things on the carlton board in a civil manner, im guessing im quite welcome here. then you mentioned that you preferred simpson to goddard, kind of needed some reality, which the bulk of posters served you

Thanks TE although things arent going well at all, but it's great to see the kid having a good first up game in 2010, looks like a few of the idiots bagging him have dsappeared now.

I am over the moon the kid had a good game, was getting pissed off last season at all the shit he was copping from so called Carlton fans.

I'm with you mate. Goddard is by far and away a better player than Simmo, no point in a discussion. FWIW you're welcome here on our board any time.

Yarran performance was very promising but he still has alot of work to do. He has improved his defensive pressure (improved towards the end of last year too) and his fitness will continue to grow as will his confidence.

Just give him 50 games and I feel he will be kicking bags of goals on a consistant basis and be a very damaging forward with time in the midfield.

definately and all those things are expected to go up in the next couple of seasons in a young player like chris. its just the glimpses of the things you cant directly teach that were on show at times in the richmond game. will be great when he has the legs to play a little higher up and through the midfield for increased time around the ball. much like a shannon bynes in terms of how he will eventually structure up in attack i reckon. hope he plays close to the full 22 this year and gets some consistancy going. go yaz!
