1. Rafael Nadal
2. Roger Federer
3. Andy Murray
4. Novak Djokovic
5. Juan Martin Del Potro
6. Gilles Simon
7. Nikolai Davydenko
8. Fernando Verdasco
9. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
10. David Nalbandian

I think this is a well rounded one realistic one as Nadal is probably stay 1 , Fed will stay where as is but Murray will still climb and the rest look right.

One person to look out for would be Tsonga, he has some great shots when he's up and running and the ability to beat quality players.

ATP:

1. Rafael Nadal
2. Novak Djokovic
3. Roger Federer
4. Andy Murray
5. Nikolay Davydenko
6. Juan Martin Del Potro
7. Gael Monfils
8. Joe-Wilfried Tsonga
9. David Nalbandian
10. Gilles Simon

WTA:

1. Serena Williams
2. Jelena Jankovic
3. Ana Ivanovic
4. Dinara Safina
5. Maria Sharapova
6. Venus Williams
7. Elena Dementieva
8. Caroline Wozniacki
9. Agnieszka Radwanska
10. Victoria Azarenka
My predictions are shaping up to be okay but there are a few obvious exceptions. I didn't anticipate Sharapova to be out for this long and she obviously won't finish at #5. Vera Zvonareva is having a fantastic year whereas I thought she wouldn't be able to keep up her 2008 form and had her dropping out of the 10. Radwanska's dropped out of the 10 and might be in danger of dropping even further.

And like Sharapova, Davydenko has been out longer than I thought. He's on the verge of dropping significantly and might fall out of the top 10. Djokovic at 2 is a poor prediction, he's playing shocking tennis and will be lucky to remain in the 'big 4'.

He's going to lose his thousand from Miami last season, so he's all but gone from the top five.

Here's the top 8 players in terms of ranking points acquired since the start of 2009:

1. Nadal - 3605
2. Murray - 2620
3. Roddick - 2080
4. Federer - 2010
5. Djokovic - 1830
6. Del Potro - 1285
7. Verdasco - 1230
8. Tsonga - 1215

I'd say this accurately reflects who the best 8 players are in the world right now.

If I was to place them in tiers based on this years performance it would currently be:

Tier 1 - Nadal
Tier 2 - Murray
Tier 3 - Djokovic, Federer, Roddick (Surprised about Roddick)
Tier 4 - Del Potro, Tsonga, Verdasco (Surprised about Verdasco)

It would take near death to stop Nadal losing a match on clay this year. He has the #1 spot rapped up biatches.

As for Roddick - retire already, your about as popular as Hitler.

Ease up. I am very impressed with Roddick and the way that he has played this year. He is playing really well and apart from when he plays Federer, he puts in great performances. He has had a better year than Djokovic so far, only behind Fed, Murray and Nadal. But clay season starts soon so wont hear to much from him for a while.

ATP:

1. Rafael Nadal
2. Novak Djokovic
3. Roger Federer
4. Andy Murray
5. Nikolay Davydenko
6. Juan Martin Del Potro
7. Gael Monfils
8. Joe-Wilfried Tsonga
9. David Nalbandian
10. Gilles Simon
Total right: 7
Correct placements: 1 (Very close with many, but only 1)

WTA:

1. Serena Williams
2. Jelena Jankovic
3. Ana Ivanovic
4. Dinara Safina
5. Maria Sharapova
6. Venus Williams
7. Elena Dementieva
8. Caroline Wozniacki
9. Agnieszka Radwanska
10. Victoria Azarenka
Total right: 8
Correct placements: 2 (More than the men, a few very close but not as many as ATP).

How'd everyone else go? :)

1. Nadal
2. Del Potro
3. Federer
4. Djokovic (with his talent he should be making grand slam finals and really win one, but I've lost faith after his lack of heart in 08/09)
5. Murray
6. Roddick

1. Nadal FEDERER
2. Federer NADAL
3: Djokovic DJOKOVIC
4: Murray MURRAY
5: Del Potro DEL POTRO
6: Simon DAVYDENKO
7: Tsonga RODDICK
8: Roddick SODERLING
9: Monfils VERDESCO
10: Gulbis TSONGA

3/10, and the exact top 5... 6-10 is lol, only one player right in that minisection

1. Rafael Nadal FEDERER
2. Roger Federer NADAL
3. Andy Murray DJOKOVIC
4. Novak Djokovic MURRAY
5. Juan Martin Del Potro DEL POTRO
6. Gilles Simon DAVYDENKO
7. Nikolai Davydenko RODDICK
8. Fernando Verdasco SÖDERLING
9. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga VERDASCO
10. David Nalbandian TSONGA

Haha not a great year for me. Got one person in position and inexplicably had Roddick drop out. Nalbandian was unlucky to miss the year with injury, whilst Simon...

1. Nadal
2. Federer
3. Djokovic
4. Murray
5. Del Potro
6. Davydenko
7. Roddick
8. Söderling
9. Cilic
10. Nalbandian

Well it is probably highly unlikely that the top seven stays the same, but barring injury I can't see who drops out. I finally think this is Cilic's year, whilst I'm banking on Monfils being prevented from top ten due to injury.

Nalbandian purely to atone for last year. :D

1 - Nadal - Federer
2 - Murray - Nadal
3 - Federer - Djokovic
4 - Djokovic - Murray
5 - Del potro - Del potro
6 - Monfils - Davydenko
7 - Simon - Roddick
8 - Davydenko - Soderling
9 - Roddick - Verdasco
10 - Gulbis - Tsonga

Not very good guesses for 2009, Picked the top 4 which was easy but didn't get any in order. Del Potro at #5 the only correct guess. Bottom 5 only got 2 players and they weren't in the right spots.

Its more unpredictable tha it has been for years.

Federer is probably now slam hunting and may be vulnerable.
The top men have worked out Nadal who is going the usual clay bull route to early decline.
Del P. Murray both are capable of breaking into top 2. Djokovic is too flaky. Monfils and Tsonga don't have the mental strenght.

No offence but how the heck can you say Djokovic is flaky and yet pump up Murray saying he's capable of breaking into top 2? Djokovic is very close to the #2 position and if 2009 was anything to go by, he's a long way ahead of Murray.

2010:

ATP:

1. Rafael Nadal
2. Roger Federer
3. Novak Djokovic
4. Nikolay Davydenko
5. Andy Murray
6. Juan Martin Del Potro
7. Fernano Verdasco
8. Andy Roddick

WTA:

1. Serena Williams

4. Elena Dementieva
5. Maria Sharapova
6. Caroline Wozniacki
7. Svetlana Kuznetsova
8. Victoria Azarenka
9. Jelena Jankovic
10. Sabine Lisicki

Not confident with the women at all, it's just so hard to predict.

1. Del Potro
2. Federer
3. Murray
4. Nadal
5. Monfils
6. Djokovic
7. Davydenko
8. Tsonga
9. Cilic
10. Roddick

Monfils, now that he finally appears serious about getting fully fit will be top 5 by the end of the year. He is a future number one. I expect him to be a semi-finalist in at least one major in 2010. Bookmark it.

Other predictions:

* Federer to continue his streak of major tournament semi-finals. He is not yet a spent force. Will win Wimbledon.
* Soderling to fall from grace. He had a great 2009, doubt he can do it agian.
* Del Potro to be a clear number one by the end of the season. Can win a couple of majors.
* Nadal to slide. Won't win a major, his knees are shot. Will be competitive but will never get back to his incredible best.
* Murray will again be frustrated in his tilt for a major title and won't win one.
* Aus Open - Del Potro
* Wimbledon - Federer
* French Open - Monfils
* US Open - Del Potro

Hahaha...the last year in which Federer can win a grand slam? He's a freak of nature, he'll still be a good chance in 3 years, let alone next.
