just looking over the game here's some interesting facts

- 12 more free kicks to essendon
- missed about 5 the other way
- llyod 2 free kicks for and 1 50metre penalty , 0 against
- fevola 0 free kicks for and 2 against
- 3 50metre penaltys
- goals from free kicks 2-0 in essendons favour
- 1 goal from 50metre penalty
- clear out on the full missed against fletcher, resulting throw in cleared by essendon

at 3/4 time when they showed the free kicks at 19-10 i thought we were set because those useless waste of oxygen pricks, Chris Kamolins, Shaun Ryan and Kieron Nicholls tend to not want to make the difference so obvious. But what do they do, they get even worse.

It is because of guys like those 3 our great game is being ruined. Hang your heads in shame u fukn dogs
 
I think Fevola has grown a hand in his shoulder because how a side bump can be judged as a push in the back ... I just don't understand. Did they change the rules? Is it just me?
 
That was shocking, used his body magnificantly, Fev genuinely thoyught he had it, the umpire turns around gives away another free.

The good thing was, Fev didn't stop to argue, chased the player, forced a turnover that resulted in a goal.

WHAT CAN DEFENDERS DO???


It puzzles me, One incident last night:

Someone leading outside 50, defender right on his tail, the forward dives (Lloyd :rolleyes:) for the mark, the back dives to punch it, and doing so, not landing on the forwards back, and the free is given to the forward!

Its a f u cking disgrace. Its called momentum, is the defender supposed to let him take the mark so a free isn't paid?

Another incident last night, where the defender had front position, almost has the mark, and the chasing forward clearly gives a shove, and lands on the poor bloke, play on, and it resulted in a goal

plus the other two or three that were set up via a free kick ie. free kick 70 out kicked to a mark on the lead.
 
You people understand how lame an umpire whinge after you have lost sounds? Yes they are incapable of umpiring the game adequately any longer - not sure what can be done about that.

It's never made me feel any better bitching about umpires. It's just a way to refocus the pain of a loss. Pointless. Essendon are laughing at us. The result will never change. Because the umpires are awful pretty much all the time we can only hope we get our turn.

Whinge about an aspect of the game like unfit players. At least that has some possibility of being resolved and doesn't lead to endless, futile frustration.

Is that one where Murphy went for the mark and an essendon player came in and took his head off, ump called play on and essendon kicked a goal?
 
Alot of Problems with the umpiring last night. If it wasnt a free kick it was payed to Essendon , and if it was a free-kick (carltons way) it would called play on

There was a point in the third quarter where Fletcher kicked the ball on the full and they called it a throw in.

Fevola nudges Micheal out of the contest and its claimed hands in the back.

Everytime Lloyd even goes near the ball its considered chopping of the shoulders or hands in the back.

50 meters in the first quarter (which resulted in a goal) when a mark was taken and the player fell to the ground then Bower slipped over him. What is he meant to do ?

Silly mistakes and to think we only lost by 16 points, let the game bloody flow umpires and i think the outcome of the game would of been different if the game was allowed to run freely.
 
Those 3 maggots absolutely r*ped Carlton last night..the Eddie betts tunnelling decision was an absolute joke.
How those 3 cretins ever got a gig as senior umpires is a sad endictment on how ordinary the umpiring list is .

At least Fev didn't stop to argue, he gave chase and forced aturn over which caused a goal.

I wonder how many letters and phone calls the AFL gets regarding poor performance. I say, write them a letter with all those incidents, send in a tape of 6the game, let them work it out for them selves, itwas the biggest joke of the year.

Good example of a free kick that changes a loose ball play on call into an essendon possession resulting in a goal.
 
I do think though there was one moment where the umpire was clearly blindsided so just guessed what the decision was. What I'm talking about is in the third when Fevola slid in for a mark. The ump in the forward 50 had no chance of seeing whether the ball was taken cleanly or not, unless of course he has x-ray glasses and can see through fev's body. So why did he call anything at all? Surely they are told if you can't see it don't guess. Luckily the umpire in the middle of the ground who had a good view came in and made the correct decision.

He usually finds his straps around round 3 each year, it came as no suprise to me.

If he can continue what he's doing now, he's seriously looking at another Coleman in his closet. He only trails Buddy Franklin by 3 goals:thumbsu:.

Just sent an email to the AFL regarding the umpiring last night.

Basically what i said is i want to know the intepretation of the hands in the back rule because Fevola who was payed hands in the back actually had a forearm in the back

I outlined the obvious free kick's which were and were not payed

and i also asked for an explanation towards the free kick count 26-14.

Will let everyone know of my reply. If the bastards end up sending me one back.

At that stage, even though it was paid, I was giving shit to the ump. I reckon he could have heard me from the members. That is deplorable, and borderline game fixing.
 
How about the knock to Kreuzers head as he took a mark..brought him to ground and no 50m penalty. Yet some fool can get a free kick by having an opponent graze his back. Thought the umpiring was very biased last night, marred an otherwise entertaining game.
 
I have to agree with Thylacine60, during the game I was one of the many thousands of people ready to Riot when they were not paying our free's or plucking obscure ones from nowhere to give to Essendon.

But really, it doesn't do jack shit. The umpires get assessed after each week, just like players do. They will probably drop some of those umpires or whatever they do in situations when they perform badly.

Overall IMO it's the rules that are worse than the performance of the umpires, sure they were pretty one way last night, but it's those stupid rules that have to be enforced in the first place that put the umpires in a position for this kind of stuff up.
 
it was so annoying they really peed me off.. at times i hoped someone would put a sniper in my hands and kill those yellow tools on the spot.. thats the only reason we lost the game
 
Umpiring was extremely frustrating, but in all, I was rapt with last night.
Judd & Stevens now up and about and will only get better.
Kreuzer proved his class.
Fev kicks 8 and hits the post 3 times.
Umpiring was deplorable, and we lose by 16 points.
There are so many positives.
I have no issues with the short term pain, God knows we've had plenty in recent times.
The future is bright.
I hope the Essendon supporters enjoyed their victory last night, because with our current stocks and future improvement, they'll be lucky to beaten us twice in the next 10 years.
