Pissweak by the club, very ashamed of everyone involved. Poor Yeo most of all.
Yep, weak.
Sends the wrong message too. Basically concedes the MRP is correct (which they aren't) and gives them more incentive to do it again.
Apparently Simmo wanted to appeal but it was out of his hands.

I really just don't agree with stupid 2 weeks reduced to 1 if you plead guilty.

A player who is deliberate, obvious, off the ball and guilty as sin get the treatment as someone who by accident hurts someone while contesting the ball.
It is just wrong.
It should be here's 2 weeks you can try fight it down to 1 or none but if you have no case or don't win you are stuck at two.

I cant believe he got done after waite wasn't even cited against Essendon when he was very late and the ball was no where near. Why is the result what counts, it should be the act. He made a deliberate attempt to spoil and missed, how is that careless, accidental is the word.

Agree. So many examples of this being found as a legitimate spoiling attempt.

But sniping players behind play, deliberately with high contact and low impact is just a $1,000 fine.

I can't believe a half decent barrister couldn't take this to the MRP and at least test the case without risking a 2nd weeks suspension.

The MRP is still broken and broken badly because players / clubs are too afraid to argue the case because to do so you risk getting penalised for fighting for your rights / innocence.

If it was somebody who is a brownlow fav would they have made the same decision?

Anyways whatever..,if we can beat Geelong it may be a good thing that he's had a weeks rest

Disappointing but makes sense in the risk/reward stakes. If we lost to Geelong and had no Yeo vs Norf there would be a lot of pressure to make risky selection decisions to try and pinch a win. 0/2 for us in the next fortnight could be season derailing - coming back to Subi with our tails between our legs is the perfect setup for those Red and Black campaigners to jump us.

The only upside I see is that the Vics only bother to shaft us when they are worried we are a threat

Vic centric media won this suspension. Field umpire thought it was fine.

Just trying to set an example, similar to the bullshit Lecras suspension last year.

It's a total ****over by the media and the MRP (match ruining pussies), and the fact our club didn't even contest it like we would of in the old days (before 07) shows we have no balls any more. It's all further proof our admin needs a shake up coz they won't even stand up when they need to. Disgraceful effort by WCE.

Did Yeo even make his nose bleed? Looks more like the ball does the damage wehn he lands on it.

Yep, doesn't even look like Yeo touched him at all ... not from the shots that are available to look at. if anything his forearm might have grazed his cheek, and that is it.
Absolute bullshit.

Was thinking that Yeo didnt even come from an angle to make the contact.

This is a disgrace....cant believe the team didnt challenge.

Quick hypothetical. Would we have challenged if we were playing North in Tassie this week, and Geelong at home next week?

BS decision, should've challenged, but we were too scared of losing and getting the suspension increased to 2 weeks. The commentary team tried to compare it to another decision, but it was a hell of a lot later and had more impact. Yeo's hit was clearly accidental and going for the ball. Can't believe that the blood nose seemingly came into it, wasn't very damaging at all, no risk of concussion or anything surely.

Give's Yeo the week off to freshen up and be raring to go against North. Expecting a huge game from him. Can't wait to see Brad Scott's face before, during and after their loss.

Will go red in the face trying to figure out whether he should blame it on the MRP for not giving him two weeks, or for giving him any at all.
