For pure class,skill and showmanship Apollo gets the nod every time IMO.

But for pure hate filled brutality clubber wins hands down.

Clubber Lang IMHO.

Appollo had a superior reach, faster hand speed and was probably a better "boxer", but Lang was a powerhouse fighter, in more of a Rocky type street style.

I don't think Appollo could have gone with Lang. I found Appollo to be suspect once a fighter imposed himself on a fight, and punched the cockyness out of him. In the end he was two super hands and a faster moouth. Ivan Drago did the world a sensational service IMO.

IMHO, Lang was a better fighter than Rocky, and one of the most underrated and unfortunate fighters, nay athletes, of our time or any other.

Clubber Lang, a true sporting hero.

Clubber was a flash in the pan whos time at the top was very short.Apollo was at the top of the heap for a number of years if IIRC.

Any man who could go toe to toe with Rocky in his prime has more than just two quick hands going for him.Apollo had a strong chin and was past his prime when he failed against that drug cheat Drago.

Rubbish!!!

Lang was the biggest puncher in heavyweight history. Nobody came close. He was an animal, a fear inducing machine. He had Rocky petrified.

Toe to toe with Rocky is no achivement. Rocky based his boxing on Homer Simpson's pugilistic styles. Stand there, get hit and hope he gets tired and falls over.

Lang would have destroyed him.

Clubber Lang is powerful no doubt about it. Clubber can't go the distance, any fighter with resilience and a strong defence can sit back while Clubber throws his big punches at them left right and centre. All the while as every round passes his defence becomes weaker and the oppurtunity can be seized to hit him hard and strong while his guard is down.

For the above reasons an experienced fighter like Apollo Creed would send Mr.T to the floor.
