Life's too short to listen to 20 minutes of Sam Newman's "I'm not an anti-vaxxer but here are series of anti-vaxx talking points" every week. Unless they can have someone to offer a contrary opinion, the show is garbage.
i think sams treading carefully knowing the connotations of being labelled or being an anti vaxxer are. usually sam is very forthright in his stance on things, whereas on the vaccination he's in between i feel.

The only highlight this week was Don complaining about Rex running over his agapanthus.
hahahahaha lol

Yet life is long enough for you to post this dribble on a sports forum? The delicate flowers ITT are something else, just don't listen to the show if you don't like it, there's plenty of paint-the-dots podcasts and radio broadcasts that will be more up your alley.

just an opinion, precious. if you wanna pull your lil pud over dopey sh*t like "vaccinated people are 13 times more likely to catch covid than unvaccinated people", go for it.

To be fair to Sam re vaccination he said he wants Pfizer hence why he hasn’t been jabbed before.
Aren’t 70 somethings now eligible for Pfizer? Has he got the jab?

His argument that the Pfizer CEO didn’t get the jab straight away and therefore must be an issue with the vaccine is completely illogical and shows a complete and utter lack of understanding in simple constructs

I’m listening less and less and when I do I’m fast forwarding through most of the rubbish.

Sam loves to quote the “overseas news” or say “a lot of people are saying” when in reality he is rarely quoting a reliable source or factually correct information and he can rarely specifically disclose where he got it from. When he says a lot of people are saying he actually means a very very small number of people but that’s what I want to hear so I’m amplifying it.

The idea that their are different opinions on things and it depends where you get your news is true to some extent but facts are facts and Sam can’t seem to get his head around this or doesn’t want to. Got to love this new world of “Alternative Facts” we live in, unfortunately the main stream media has itself to blame to an extent for people losing trust in it.

That’s rubbish they had dr John daffy on who explained AstraZeneca was equally as good a vaccine as Pfizer, and that still doesn’t account for all the anti vaccine propaganda sh*t he bangs on about

yes noted and accepted. all im saying is that before Pfizer was open to him, that was his reason/excuse why he couldnt get the jab.

i also acknowledge that he does offer an anti vax view, while at the same time saying hes not anti vax (to be careful not to be categorised as one of them).

as ive asked a few times in this thread, do posters reckon sam will get vaxxed? Im not so sure.

yes.

It was interesting and refreshing to hear Sam support the NBA on their non mandatory stance on vax. The same organisation that permitted BLM stuff, which sam did not agree with. maybe sam is softening.

The grooming/deVana story got a few mins of discussion, which surrounded their concern about girls/women being able to play without being groomed. I dont feel they are homophobic, in fact fairly certain they arent. at the same time im not 100% sure their issue/concern is/are any impediments to women being able to play sport. Its a sticky subject.

agree that it depends where you get your news from, that is spot on.

i do still listen but not with the same focussed intent. I like when they talk sport and hang sh*t on each other. politics, dont have to like it hence thats why there's a forward 15 button or scroll through. Sams point about obama having a party with no masks etc was interesting. But struck me....that isnt that what sam wants? Freedoms again to party and be free of masks (i think we all want that). So in a way he should be applauding obama for that event

It's got stale, I think by the end of the year it might be time to pull up stumps.

But I really hope they can get Simon O'Donnell on again before it's all over.

It's been a great ride regardless and I bet no one ever thought how peoplular it would get seeing no one likes Sam apparently.

If it's to continue on next year they need to find a recently retired footballer who has chemistry with them.

Otherwise I think it's all over.
