Radio 'You cannot be serious' podcast with Sam Newman, Don Scott and Rod Law

Most ignorant comment of the year winner right here. They're very unfavourable to right-wing views. Content and bias has extraordinarily little to do with the Chairperson and more to do with the editors.

:tearsofjoy:

Where do the editors take their cues from? That's right, their Board and their Chairman.

Sam is full of hypocrisy. He’s often said “an opinion can’t be wrong” but has contempt for the opinions of Rod, Don and many others.

I would stop listening if Rocket left. He’s often the voice of reason (as Mike Sheahan was) in a conversation between two grumpy old farts.

Re: Nick Stevens, why him of all people? Do they find it that difficult to find worthwhile guests to join them?
He wasn't on this week, they had someone else produce it, and they wouldn't let him speak.

I think even Rod has grown tired of them and their constant whining and bickering towards each other.

^^ Rocket was still there, they just made him STFU so they could actually talk about topics

So you thought that was bad...

finally got around to listening to the latest. i was really glad to have a break from Rocket honestly. last weeks was unbearable with Rod's sooking about how many minutes have gone by without talking about a real topic, if he hasn't learned by now the rambling IS the podcast he'll never get it. did anyone realise that this podcast, for the first time in the history of this podcast, Don Scott actually sounded eloquent? he was able to just gather his thoughts and speak, there was a passage where he was talking about the Police Commissioner and stuff where I was stunned, he was just able to talk back and forth with Sam, very refreshing. I reckon he suffers from that thing that simple guys get where when they're around other simpletons they both drag each other down. I think Rod and Don do that to each other. in isolation either one of them is great to listen to, but together they are a couple of hyenas.

:laughing: Rod is a complete moron. You are in a distinct minority who would stop listening if that Commie Pinko was booted off the podcast.

Agree. Lefties find it insufferable when regular people discuss moderate, everyday opinions.

Yes, so he objected to Nick Stevens coming on, fair enough. They really need a third one on there, presumably they don't have many options given they got The Rocket as the third wheel, now even he doesn't want to do it!

Has this been confirmed as the reason Rod left? I'm keen to know the full story of how this has transpired

(Completely agree, they need a third wheel)

Sam said it today, he did say some stuff about technical issues that Rod was fixing etc, but he said Stevens was the reason last week and he's stayed away this week. Sam rambled a bit about this actually, I think him and Rod are really good mates, feels like he forced Rod into coming on in the first place.

Sam’s gone through more podcast co hosts than he has wives. They should just stick to the interviews its so boring now, same sh*t every week.
Pretty much. It's just become Sam whining and moaning about the same s**t every week... COVID, Andrews government, Biden, Political Correctness, etc.
It's gotten worse since Rod has left because at least he would pull Sam up or challenge him.

I just go straight to the interview eps each week now, although they don't seem to have one this week.

Sam doesn’t need to be pulled up or challenged by Rod. Rod is a complete moron who epouses dangerous views. Sam, on the other hand, is correct with 95% of what he says, particularly around the issues you mentioned above.

95% correct? About what, he doesn’t watch afl so any opinion he has is usually incorrect, he says things like “Essendon has never been found guilty of taking any drugs”, well actually sam they were found guilty by cas, continually goes on about US election was rigged, says he’s not an antivaxxer yet won’t get vaccinated and spruiks fake news about covid and continually *s up anything factual he does find by misunderstanding it

I like the podcast for all these reasons but to say he’s 95 correct of what he says is absolute bullshit

It's not bullshit, he's 95% correct on most things he says. Yes it might slip up on a couple details, however the overall premise is usually correct. He acknowledges he knows nothing about the modern game of AFL. And yes you make a valid point about him being wrong about Essendon - this is in the 5%.

i think part of his opinion that essendon are innocent is his hatred of caroline wilson.

i recognise his views on things, sometimes i feel he doesnt realise that he contradicts himself as his mind is trying to stay ahead of the game. for example, when he states views are shaped by where you get your news from (which is right). but when when someone cites say NY times (or whoever isnt fox/sky) he calls BS without realising that its simply another opinion/view.

sam is unique. sure he's hard on some issues but others such as climate change he is softening up.

Do you think he will receive the vaccination?

If they get Rex as the third person, it will be absolute chaos. Rod is like Andy Maher on the front bar.
it will be unlistenable. They need someone to keep them under control
I listened to the first part just now and it was terrible. If we get 45 mins of Dan is bad every week i am out and i am a big Sam defender even though i am a "socialist lefty" lol

id like sam to apply as much vigour to all and any politician who is s**t. not just the left.

On this week's podcast, Sam read out a falsified court transcript that has been shared around on anti-vax Facebook pages, misrepresenting the responses Professor Kristine Macartney provided to a series of questions in the Supreme Court. She is a director of the National Centre for Immunisation Research.

Rod never kept anything under control though, he would sook and moan unless they were talking about boring generic s**t and gossiping about people, he's a Woman's Weekly type, a TV drone, he made us dumber when he spoke, one of those types. Don is actually not one of those types, it's been fascinating to discover that.

Just on Rex check out his final ever show on 3AW, it's both sad and amusing all at once. Podcast should still be available..
