It's hilarious how people think they actually subscribe to the leftist narrative, but when challenged (e.g. with an analogy based on the AFL), they actually confess to leaning towards meritocracy. Interesting!
Being left-aligned politically does not make you a communist, in the same way that being right-aligned does not make you a Nazi.

You're making a fool of yourself.

When are you leftists going to admit that your crusade isn't really about defending the "oppressed" and "victims", but more about personal interest?

Let's face it. You don't give a **** about the oppressed. Your mission is to improve your own lot in life out of selfishness because you are a loser.

As a further analogy using the AFL. Imagine, if I really, really, really wanted to play in the AFL but I was too short and fat to do so. Instead of saying "It sucks that I was born short and fat, but I'll just blame those with good football genes for having 'privilege' and oppressing all of us who didn't have Gary Ablett (senior) as their dad. Maybe if we could create a huge, massive movement out of this discontent, losers like me who were not cut out to play AFL football might actually be able to play AFL football."

So ******* laughable.
Nope. 100% accurate reflection of the left. Too bad, loser.
Why should your friends under 5'11" be denied the opportunity to play AFL? WHY?! IT'S SO UNFAIR!!!!!

For example, if I decided to marry my first cousin which leads to genetic deformities, it's not my fault that my offspring is genetically deformed. It's the fault of people who do not marry their first cousins that their children have "privileges" accorded to offspring of parents who do not marry their first cousins.

Disclaimer: Any connection with any person, real or fictitious, who has married their first cousin is purely coincidental.
Anyone got a spare Bex they can lend this guy?

This is a load of crap too. Show me a lefty who wants people who just aren't good enough to play top-grade sports at the highest level. Show me one single instance.

You don't need to show single instances. It's institutional. If there were a level playing field between men and womens playing top-grade sports at the highest level there would not be a single instance of a female making a substantial living from playing sport.

Which AFL team would Daisy Pearce break into? Serena Williams would not be top 300 in the world. The Matildas would get smashed be a decent u17s boys team.

Wait. What. You mean to tell me that 'the left' is arguing that all team sports should be mixed? REALLY? I have legitimately never read about this.

While sorted is correct in this statement, the number of extreme lefties actually wanting the world to run this way is probably minuscule - noisy but small numbers none the less.

By the same token it's a reality because there is that small noisy minority that actually believe this can work. Just because it isn't "written" doesn't mean the sentiment doesn't exist, we've all heard of "inclusion" driven quota's. Heck even the ALP have openly and proudly admitted having a quota system that is inclusion motivated to get more women on their cabinet.

Probably because they listened to the noise of the minority and the inclusion thing is sexy, until of course the silent majority spoke up on election day.

IF This noisy minority ever did get their way which they won't, it would immediately fall apart anyway because the idea is so far away from practical it's not funny.

These things don't actually legitimately need to exist for some people to justify to continue their detachment from reality whereby "the left" is responsible for all ill's in society.

I didn't say that.

There's an institutional policy that allows people with lesser abilities to play top-grade sports at the highest level - because they are female. If we had mixed teams and treated males and females equally there would be no females at the highest level of sport.

There's people pushing for equal pay for female sports stars and arguments about sex change athletes. But strangely no push for mixed teams which would resolve those arguments.

Now you've done it!

Cue in the salty civil libertarians "But women are absolutely equal in every single way and are able to compete with men at the top level in full contact sports"

I see no reason why the AFLW couldn't eventually become a top-flight professional league in its own right. Apart from crowd figures. Don't forget the league is only in its infancy - it will take years before they rise above semi-professional status. When/if that happens the equal pay thing should be re-examined.

The AFL is largely merit based. If you’re out of form or just not up to scratch, you don’t get a game. Period.

The left wants to put people in power who may not necessarily be qualified but apparently deserve to be purely because of their skin color to satisfy the “diversity” criteria.

So if you’re left leaning, you really should stop following AFL.

In actuality, many left-leaning dickheads in this board don’t actually follow football and only post ******** on SRP. I don’t even know why they’re here seeing as this is supposed to be a website about footy.
Exhibit A of why many people who get to vote aren't sane enough to deserve the right

But what if those first-cousined genetically deformed offspring want to play AFL football? Don't you think it's unfair that they not be given the opportunity to do so? Shouldn't everyone be given the opportunity to play AFL football?

You just said that anyone under 5'11" shouldn't be allowed to play AFL football, which I find offensive. You're quite the bigot.

And by the way, are you sure it doesn't "impact" you? What if your son or daughter decided to marry an offspring of a first-cousin marriage (who is more than likely going to have a personality disorder)? Would you be happy for your son or daughter to be in an abusive relationship?

Disclaimer: Again, any real-life connection with a culture that actually engages in the practice of marrying their first cousins is coincidental. I do NOT know of ANY WHATSOVER! If you have know of a culture that does so, that is on YOU!

And of course the private and corporate sectors are pure and pristine. Their perfect meritocracy produce elite forms of efficiency, honesty and integrity.

I'm pretty sure that being unqualified has never been an impediment to being in power.

The reason people are pushing for greater political diversity is that as we have seen, the lower levels for party advancement first represented by the young liberals gatekeeping over membership, invitation to networking events and promotion within party structures in an aim to exclude non white, male, wealthy private schoolers with extreme views shows that politics as it stands is anything but a meritocracy.

A chumocracy yes, a plutocracy, well for some parties and countries, but most of all it is an exclusionary practice for most rightwing and even many centrist parties that prioritises identity, connections and wealth over competence and ability.

Withering sarcasm.

On the topic, how many years now has it been since executive renumeration officially decoupled from performance?

Was it ever really coupled?

What has happened is a massive ever widening gap between the renumeration and bonuses handed out to the CEOs and Top Management compared to the ever shrinking scraps that the workforce must distribute.

It's essentially a byproduct of Corporatism in the West, although wealth concentration is accelerating pretty much everywhere. (Western Democracies like to describe their economic systems as Free market Capitalism. Nothing can be further from the truth. They are neither Capitalist or free market based. In fact these nations are not even democratic)

There were 3 major forms of fascism that emerged during the 20th Century: Bolshevism, Nazism and Corporatism

Mussolini1.jpg

(and Benito Mussolini would know: it was his little gang in 1915 that first coined the term fascism. Hitler much later adopted the Italian fascist model for the Nazi Germany asylum)
