Liverpool vs Man City U23s on LFCTV 4:30am Melb time.

Any notable first teamers that feature regularly for City?

Not sure 100% sure if Arnold, Ings, Stewart, Grujic and Ejaria will play because they just had a league cup game a few days ago.
Tosin, Maffeo, Garcia, Brahim and Angelino could play. They all played in the first team this season.

We don't tend to play established first teamers in U23 and it would be a surprise if we did tonight.

none. they're basically all u/18 players, bar a couple.

the last lineup that beat southampton 3-0 was:

billy o'brien (20), james horsfield (21), cameron humphreys (18), jacon davenport (17), erik sarmiento (18), sadou diallo (17), aaron nemane (19), rodney kongolo (18), brahim diaz (17), paolo fernandes (18) and javairo dilrosun (18).

i expect something similar to that

Dunno. He's been in demand for a while. Turned down a move to Hull a few weeks ago where he would have been an assistant manager.

Could understand if he left for an opportunity. As far as I know, Wigan haven't asked permission to talk with him. United have a really good relationship with them so I'd be surprised if they were doing anything dodgy.

Yep. Conte just needs to keep playing them.

Christensen and Musonda should be next.
I really like Musonda. Great to see Chalobah given opportunity. I was sure that you guys would lose him and he'd flourish elsewhere.

Surely Tammy comes back next season too and is backup to Costa.

Would love United to offer 20m for Tammy and test Chelsea's resolve.

In a perfect world Bristol gets promoted and Tammy gets a season of EPL before coming home. If not on loan sonewhere else he'll start.

We dont need the money so theres no resolve to test, plus He'd be wasted at a club with Mou as manager.

IMO Abraham will be better off playing 25-30 times in the premier league somewhere on loan than the odd minute here or there as a backup.

Life's not perfect. I'll have to buy him on FM and have him beside Rashford for the next 15 years.

U23's finished 1-0 to us, Fernandes with our goal.

Currently top of U23's and U18's although Everton can re-take the lead in the U23's with a win over Chelsea on Monday.

just looking at this, one of the opening shots is 17 year old brahim standing near beastmode himself.

some of these blokes won't make it. horsfield i dont really see going above championship level, but the experience against bigger bodies is invaluable at this level. diaz and fernandes in particular would get so much from playing against sakho in particular.

That Diaz is a very clever player. Also the big CB Tosin looks a very good prospect.

he's an absolute star in the making. only just 17 a couple of months ago, he's the jewel of the academy. represented by pep's brother too.

He looked really good both going forward and defensively. Gave N'Koudou an absolute bath for the most part.

In saying that, he could have easily been sent off for a challenge on Davies. In fact, in his presser after the game, Pochettino said that he believed he should have been.
Yeah the tackle was a little dodgy. Possible red. But outside of that he was excellent. He's the real deal.

Doctor Gero Walkes got onto the bench being more a more versatile option. Can play FB, DM and CB if needed.

Yet in the latest U23's match KWP played on the right in a 4-1-4-1 formation. Appears as though he's thrown about as well. Just thought it was weird that you play Davies and Trippier with Vertonghen on the bench and then pick a CB, albeit versatile over a full back who's been playing on both sides and at times both sides of the midfield.

In any case nice to see Poch's insistence of a La Masia style philosophy starting to be implemented at youth level.

Yeah I just think it's the fact that Walkes and JV could cover CB, LB, RB & DM between them. If KWP comes in it'd be only fair to him to play RB.

Wouldn't mind him going out to Roda wouldn't be the worst idea since we've got two very good RBs already plus CBs who can cover if needed. Gives him a chance to play in a pretty good league and play attacking football there

Our kids lost to Barca 0-2. Only watched the 2nd half and thought we were great. Had one goal wrongly disallowed for offside and could have scored 3 or 4.

But Barca been much more clinical than us in both games.

LFC U23s drew 1-1 with Porto.

Harry Wilson did very well for us and Brooks Lennon (who will take over at ST for the injured Danny Ings for the rest of the season) scored.
