Would be surprised if Edwards left... are spurs being tightarses? Youf players usually get poached well before 17. The argument to stay at spurs is pretty easy.
We are, we don't budge on the policy of minimal academy wages and there are no exceptions for anyone, designed to keep them determined and hungry rather than lazy on a big fat cheque. Those that want the easy route are allowed to leave. All reports are that Nathan Oduwa is one like that with a poor attitude and now won't sign a contract. Don't think we'll miss him frankly.

The carrot we dangle is that the bigger clubs with more sophisticated academies (money making motives) ala Chelsea is that you may not get senior football there but if you stay you will get first team football at the end.

Also imo helps get better charactered players, the ones that are willing to do the hard yards for little rewards are those that stay and get the rewards in the end. May produce less than other club academies but I'm happy with the system. Hope Carter-Vickers becomes the 4th CB this season, has been a part of Poch's double sessions all season.

Hopefully with Mitchell and Pleat scouting players we can keep finding young prospects.

it's an admirable stance. Sometimes though, exceptions have to be made for special talents.
That opens pandoras box imo. You either do the strategy and stick with it or you do what the others do.

not changing our stance cost us Paul Pogba. That's all I'm saying. It can be tempting.
atm we probably don't need to, the carrot is big enough.

A manager who backs youth and gives them a go, but is ruthless if the attitude is wrong. Everyone we sold last summer window was because of bad attitudes. Club captain included.

Combine that with a limited transfer budget during stadium redevelopment and you have a club that will give young players opportunities. Last two seasons we've uncovered a gem that's now nailed on first XI. That should be an incentive to keep/attract players.

DBAH0 West Ham have signed ex Chelsea scholar Domingo Quina on a 2 year scholarship.

Quina had a pretty big fall out with Chelsea and refused to train with the club a few month ago. He is v highly rated.
Yep, heard this was going to happen in March / April.

Similar prospect to Lanzini apparently, comes deep to get the ball and likes to dribble.

I should also mention Martin Samuelson got called to Norway's squad yesterday, had a cracking season on loan at Peterborough, he's one to definitely watch for in the future.

If I was a young player some first team minutes would mean more than extra money and more kids football. If he is as good as they say league cup appearances might not be far off at all.

Bringing through Onomah or Winks in place of Carroll will be a good move to keep the current crops focus on getting there rather than bank I think

We've got our own Vitesse agreement with NAC Breda according to various sources. 4-6 players between 18-21 going there every year, initial deal is 5 years. We pay wages. We've already had Enes Unal and Divine Naah there on loan this season.

Going to be great experience for the likes of Adarabioyo, Bryan, Barker etc who aren't really ready for significant minutes at City but need senior football.

NAC lost their playoff for promotion to Eredivisie last week which is a real shame as I would have loved to tune into a few of their games.

What are we doing with Pritchard?

What a pointless loan that was.

Think there is still talk to get players down to Melbourne City, not sure how that's going.

Think he is another Mason/Carroll. Deserves a chance though
Really? Kid had big praise coming through the last couple of years. Thought he'd have made something out of himself.

Had a rough year this year. Was ahead of lamela early days then got a bad ankle injury. Then for some reason we gave him to Pulis who was never going to give him a go

Was he at WBA? Don't know why anyone sends players on loan to him. Gnabry had a shit time of it there as well.

Yeah why we didn't learn from that I've got no idea. Guess his crossing might have appealed to Pulis but yeah silly side to loan him to. Would have preferred him go to Bournemouth
